Overwatch league visual effects in game

What I mean by visual effects is the way that projectiles, barriers, etc are the same color as the team color. I was wondering if this could be implemented into overwatch.

They could, but for competitive integrity, I think they deliberately don’t. Such recolors are only displayed in spectator views on specifically the tournament clients for Contenders and League.

The Color Blind settings really only change the effects necessary that help distinguish ally and opponent markings.

I would love this. Even just for me, personally.

This is also why we don’t get effect that match skin colors. Some rube might be confused that the red enemy effects that hurt are different then the multi color ones that don’t. So we stuck with red and blue.

They could add it and make it client side only and it would have zero effect for competitive mode. Also the integrity of competitive mode went out the window looooong ago.

Here me out, they deliberately remove it out of the client, so you don’t have the means to equip cosmetics or change settings that make it easier to play from your view. Yeah it looks cool, but if being able to have certain skins gives too much of a significant advantage to play Overwatch, then it creates a situation where cosmetics turn into pay-to-win elements in the game.

For example, the Pink Mercy skin has very distinctive sound effects (that only I hear) which are a lot more pronounced to when I successfully completed healing an ally so I know to either to switch to boosting or find another teammate. Now this may not be too much of an advantage, but it does demonstrate why it is important to keep certain visual or audio limits within set parameters that make the game a fair experience for you and for your opponents.

Then they should remove the ability to customize your crosshair and change it’s color.

If I want my team’s abilities like shields, mercy beam or team color to be green and no one else can see that, that should be fine. If I want the enemy team to be white then so be it.

Give these to everyone and then you’re all on the same playing field.

The current colorblind settings make no sense and don’t even serve their main function.

Changing the color settings doesn’t change the color of Shields which is insanely confusing.
