Today in the experimental tournament the team Toronto Defiant lost to a bunch of unknowns and turns out they were all plats with one diamond player ain’t a good look, tbh.

Sounds more like, pros who are treating this like a joke, probably lost to a bunch of smurfs who placed into plat because that is how that system works.

But I am not really watching it, just saying that this would be how you can check for yourself.
If a pro team took this seriously, and that was a legit group of plats, that would be the most savage one-sided beating, you would be temped to phone the police to end the sheer brutality.

Honestly people truly under rate teamwork. I guarantee you that a team of golds that practice with each other and prepare for each map/ Scenario would be a random team of Top 500 players.
People can say, " They joke around" or anything like that , but I am sure that had to hurt their egos to lose so early in the tournament

Why aren’t we congratulating the plats?
Even though OWL pros were joking around this is definitely the highlight of their time playing OW.
For anyone not watching, the tournament has a lot of memeing around with the OWL players off-roleing, Lucio’s 1v1ing each other and general tbagging.

It was obvious as early as the first few games of OWL season 1 that the OWL isn’t all the top players in the world.
There’s always been teams that are not in OWL that could stomp 50% of the league. As time went on, the League quality got even worse so it doesn’t surprise me that we are seeing OWL teams not even get past the Round of 32.
I don’t agree with this take at all because in a actually competitive 'top-league" of any sport, those players should run circles around any lower tier players without doing anything special. It’s just not a good look and indicative that the OWL is kinda trash.
The only contenders teams that can currently beat owl teams not named the valiant are the american tornado and runaway
Even if you are right that’s it’s “only two teams”, that’s still makes OWL look like a joke lmao.
I could understand maybe the best Contenders team going toe-to-toe with the worst OWL team and having a a close game. But we both that there are Contenders that would destroy half the League. That’s kinda sad

They weren’t even trying. I was watching Logix’s live stream and they were just having fun. It was also a team of top 500’s and it was only half of the roster who were playing roles that they don’t play.
So yeah you can’t judge much of that.
Gladiators played their entire roster and lost because they weren’t trying…
