SEOUL DYNASTY WINS!

And now it’s time for the match which Hangzhou fans paid good money to see…their hometown heroes, Hangzhou Spark, taking on the L.A. Valiant. Will the L.A. Valiant finally get their first match win? Or will the Spark clinch their spot in the June Joust? Only one way to find out. Let’s get the payload moving!

Damn I saved my prediction just barely. Hunters are too random.

hi i just woke up whatd i miss

Let me see:

1: Philadelphia complete the first half of their plan to go from 0-2 and 7th place to just barely making it in to the June Joust Knockouts (and knocking out the NYXL’s chance to be seen by Hangzhou’s fans in the process).
2: The Hunters show their randomness once again, which gave the Dynasty fits on Maps 3 and 4
3: We had a proper team walkout for the first time in what feels like FOREVER.

Oh, and did I mention all the APAC matches this weekend are played in a somewhat LAN/homestand-like style? Yep, the China-based teams are playing matches this weekend from the Hangzhou Future Sci-Tech City Academic Exchange Center in Hangzhou, China…hosted by the Hangzhou Spark! Sadly, due to the number of restrictions on people traveling into and out of China, the Korea-based teams are still playing from their home bases in Korea…which means the minimum latency feature will be seeing a fair bit of use this weekend. However, rest assured, both of the matches featuring the Spark will have a China-based team as an opponent, which means we can expect the pre-pandemic rules for Activision-Blizzard LAN events to apply during Spark matches, which includes, but is not limited to, the following:

A: Maximum latency of 10ms (with a pause automatically triggered if latency for anyone goes above 100ms).
B: Headphones MUST be completely noise-canceling, approved by Blizzard, and worn at all times (i.e. the earbuds you see Profit wearing during Dynasty matches wouldn’t be allowed if he were at Hangzhou).
C: Fan noise is allowed and encouraged!
D: Pauses automatically interrupt team comms until the issue triggering the pause is addressed and the pause is lifted by the admin of the lobby.

In other news, the Spark are one map win away from giving their fans a clean 3-0 sweep!

AFTER MAP 2 (Match 3)

Oasis (Control): Hangzhou Spark 2, Los Angeles Valiant 0

Hanamura (Assault): Hangzhou Spark 2, Los Angeles Valiant 0

MATCH SCORE: Hangzhou Spark 2, Los Angeles Valiant 0

NEXT UP: The second half of Valiant vs. Spark. The Hangzhou Spark are on MATCH POINT!

The hometown heroes get the win and clinch not only a spot in the June Joust Knockouts, but the APAC 1 seed in said Knockouts!

FINAL (Match 3)

Oasis (Control): Hangzhou Spark 2, Los Angeles Valiant 0.

Hanamura (Assault): Hangzhou Spark 2, Los Angeles Valiant 0.

Hollywood (Hybrid): Hangzhou Spark 2, Los Angeles Valiant 1.

FINAL SCORE: Hangzhou Spark 3, Los Angeles Valiant 0
