Idk if it’s just me that thinks this could be a good idea, but I was thinking about how Fortnite unbanned everyone who had every been perma banned in their game. So I thought that could be a good idea for overwatch, maybe I’m biased because my og account is perma banned but I think it could be good especially because you can’t apeal a perma ban
tbh max ban should be 360 days. especially since chat gpt -0.10 runs customer service.
Why?
This could be an interesting idea!
They did? Wow…that’s…pretty crazy. They must be desperate for players or something, lol.
So for fortnite if you were banned for cheating and only for cheating (or are banned for cheating only in the future), the max penalty is 1 year for the first time you are caught cheating. Then if you are caught a second time, you are perma banned.
I’ve never heard of a video game implementing such a stupid cheating policy, lol. I mean, I know it’s f2p and you can just make a new account anyways…but still
Are we that desperate for players already?
My main account is banned too, but I don’t think unbanning everyone is a good idea.
Instead, they should focus on improving their anti-cheat system, fixing the report system, punishing people for abusing it with false reports for real, and implementing a proper automated chat moderation if they’re already moving in that direction, since apparently everyone’s so sensitive these days they might fall into depression from a few negative words from random strangers. And for those who did get banned, they should at least review the case manually to see if the punishment is actually justified.
But all of that is just wishful thinking. Personally, I hope some enthusiasts will eventually crack the first game and finish it properly with whatever data they can access, I’d be really curious to see how they could bring that old-new project to life.
I’m sure Blizzard still keeps the idea of relaunching OW1 up their sleeve, like they always do to pull in the older audience. But after what they did to my account and the way they treat me, I don’t want to see that project brought to life by them, anyone else, even two drunk college students, but not Blizzard.
Let all the hackers back in LMFAO get bent on that one.
It’s only you
Good answer xD
Maybe give the people who were banned for toxicity a chance to show they’ve chilled out, but cheaters should stay perma banned forever. I’m on console, not that high ranked either, so I’m pretty lucky not to run into too many ximmers, but a cheater ruins the game faster than anything else.
So you’re either saying horrible things in chat, hard throwing consistently enough to get perma’d, or cheating.
Lmfao stay gone.
I say yes, but also force these players into their own separate lobbies with no chat restrictions. And the rest of us can spectate the games and chat. Like watching Squid Games but better.
At the very least bans should decay after a certain amount of time, also saying your team is trash shouldnt lead to a perma ban
Bro, you literally have no moral high ground on this lmao
Except I haven’t been banned
I’d say never say never.
When core of the playerbase comes down to players that are perma banned every other week and that become too fed up to even try and create a new account, yet are essential to the game functining (in terms of queue’s flow)… It’s safe to say that yeah, Overwatch is desperate for players …
How about no and we ban this account along with your main instead
The anti-cheat system is a fail, the report system is a fail, once they stopped having actual humans look at reports. False reports have never gotten anyone in trouble. Not sure how much more automated they can get? Perhaps they could automate it so when your account is banned you get a new one just like that?
