Overwatch isn't that bad?

I don’t get why everyone thinks overwatch 2 is a failure. Sure, i see some small issues here and there, but it isn’t THAT bad.

Please tell me why everyone thinks it’s so bad atm🙏

Most people are mad towards the new monetization and slow balance changes. The majority i´ve seen been liking the gameplay, of course you will find 1 or 2 forum users that hate 5v5, but the same happened with role queue when it first came to the game

80% of the anger is towards monetization

I’m waiting until season 3 to judge it as a pre release as I think they are kinda experimenting with things right now and I’m waiting until PVE to fully judge it as a whole as a game. I don’t think it s that bad either but it does have problems and you’re ganna see people pointing the negatives out more than the good because that’s how you make it better: by trying to point out what needs to be better.

its taken a step back in almost every aspect…which sucks because the core game is still fun…but you cant ignore just how much theyve messed up:

  • monetization is terrible/shameful
  • the hero/bp thing
  • the shop prices thing
  • no progressions systems
  • every single nonRQ game mode being broken and completely ignored
  • unfulfilled promises of “more”
  • the challenges are a mess and they keep trying to come up with something better
  • competitive system has been a mess and also feels unrewarding
  • map pools again, why?
  • hero bugs so bad they have to pull them from roster
  • an event that people couldnt really get behind because everything was basically locked
  • OWL rewards fiasco
  • tone deaf dev responses (to all of the above)

etc etc…and thats on top of the balance and matchmaking issues (which arent new)

Because the forums are an echo chamber of negativity.

New to the game !!
I think its super fun and Im having alot of fun.
My only gripe is the balance issues and the how expensive skins are when,to me,they look as if blizzard just slapped some new paint on older paint and try to call them “Legendary”

Less content.
Less ways to get new skins.
Less features.
Less maps.

And you somehow think it’s not bad!?

That it´s just not true, we got in 2 months more content than in the last 3 years

Both are true

Totally debatable and a matter of personal opinion. For me and a lot of people, things like cards at the end of the match mean nothing at all. I miss the on fire system tho

Imo, it’s not bad. I do miss the loot boxes, A LOT, and i don’t get why we can’t see other’s ranks anymore, and match making is bad, but other than that, i am having almost as much fun as in ow1

The match quality is worse than ever to compensate for queue times.

Omg yea, i miss the cards and on fire thing. Okay. I do see some unnecessary changes now

Leaving aside the theft of monetization and the garbage of events that they bring, their balance is crap the only difference is that now it is more fun to play tank than in ow1 not to mention that there are many dead heroes who never saw or will see the meta because Blizzard wants it that way , there is an entire role dead , and their balance patches do random stupid things rather than fix the real problem

It’s not. Welcome to the forum, where we have a lot of people who quit the game, but stay in the forum to whine about it. The game is great. The only thing that sucks are the shop prices and the slow balance. The rest is not a problem.

Quoted for emphasis.

No game company could’ve gotten away with this and still have a game going. Blizzard is riding on long-ago good press; but that’s quickly fading.

If this where an update, maybe.

This game however, has been heavily promoted as a sequel, so collectively yes, less content.

I also don’t care about cards, but we still don’t have map select, backfill disabled, or a bigger block list.

Tbh, as I only play competitive and normally supports so I don’t have long queue times, most of these don’t effect me.

I rarely look in the shop, I don’t care about the BP, I haven’t purposefully tried to complete a single challenge and tbh idk where to even find them, I don’t play any other mode other than mystery heroes sometimes, and I don’t watch OWL.

However I agree that comp system is a mess, I dislike map pools and the halloween event was a joke. I’m also not a fan of the monetization as I would love to unlock cosmetics without paying but I can overlook it because I already have as many as I want from OW1.

It only doesn’t feel that bad cuz it stands on OW1 foundations. The core of the the game is still there, but thats something we already had. We only rly got pinging system and a whole bunch of content that was held hostage and could’ve been released way earlier if not for this sequel.

Meanwhile the list of things that got worse is long… New, trash monetization system, gameplay got watered-down with 5v5 (subjective ik), the game kinda lost its identity (music that doesn’t feel like Overwatch, heroes personalities changed in a bad way etc…), they didn’t bother to adjust arcade gamemodes to new format.

Imo the game isn’t straight up bad. It can still be enjoyable, but It just feels worse than OW1, which they took away. Its basically Overwatch Reforged.

How long have you been playing it? The more you play, the more you notice. I didn’t think it was that bad for the first few weeks, and now I think the game is doomed.

Obviously OW2 isn’t bad. The only major downside is that every cosmetic isn’t free anymore. But being F2P for everyone and having a steady stream of content again is totally worth it.
