When I first started playing Overwatch back in Season 5, it was literally the best game ever. I used to play it for hours and hours, literally pulling all-nighters and I’ve never played a game so enjoyable. It is so sad to see the state the game is in today. All the problems started since the Moth Meta and the Release of Low-Skill Cap too OP heroes like Brigitte. Blizzard started focusing more on the OWL and literally forgot about the Core Game. LFG was a great edition, It made the game jump back into action but sadly only for a ahort duration. Now when I click on LFG there are literally no groups, ever. When I log in my friends are always offline, no one is online, most days. The likes of Fortnite and Apex Legends are taking whatever little audience that are still here. Most content creators are saying the game is DEAD. I don’t want Overwatch to be dead. I spent 900 hours of my life playing this game. 300 hours learning Genji. I always used to think no other game can offer me heroes like Genji, bow mechanic like Hanzo and it is true. Please do something, give us more content, OWL will not exist if the core game doesn’t. Give us some new social features that will let people come back to the game and enjoy it. Making the game F2P with cellphones authentication might lower the smurfs and hackers and increase the casual/competitive player base.
Events should be fresh not just repeats of 3 year old stuff. I remember how I grinded for about 100 lootboxes during Halloween Event in 2017 just so I can get all the skins. But now I don’t even feel like playing, I haven’t even updated the game since Baptist came out because I don’t feel like playing it anymore because each game I play, no body cares anymore. Everyone just plays like they want. People just leave mid game calling it a dead game even when the match is winnable. Please do something that will give Overwatch a Breath of Fresh Air.
New maps and heroes are nice and sometimes shake up the meta. But it’s all still the same three game modes. (CTF isn’t a permanent game mode so i don’t count it)
I’d also like to see the 12v12 bug come back, but as an official mode.
I agree with you, this game really nee a new game mode or events to keep players playing this game. I remembered I quit the game because they keep doing the same events over and over again, only come back because of the huge balance changes recently that make the feels like different.
I would say one of the biggest failings of Overwatch has been a lack of new content. A couple maps, a couple heroes, and a bunch of skins a year isn’t exactly cutting it.
Brother, honestly, is it subjective that there’s fewer people playing the game? Can you tell me more than 50% of your friend list logs in at least once a day? Can you see more than 10 concurrently playing people on your friend list? You can laugh all you want and honestly I can’t care less if you’re annoyed. I just wish this game gets back up on it’s feet.
Overwatch got overhyped on release, resulting in too many people playing it without even liking the genre. Also many people that are flocking from game to game depending on hype played it on release.
I have a lot of people in my friend list that were playing it and they never played another fps. These people wont return regardless the changes made.
For this kind of people, 3 years are far too much. If you mean with back on its feet, getting around the 33% - 50% of the population when in release then yeah, it’s doable. A better report system would solve a lot of problems.
If you mean make all the people who played on release come back, and gather even more, this will never happen. Blizzards overhyping marketing strategy made sure of that.
yes. That is exactly what I want. I don’t want all 50+ people on my or anyone else’s friendlist always offline. No one wants that right? Whenever there’s a new event, hero, map those players who actually loved and enjoyed the game come back to check the update out. Now the update has to be good enough to make those people stay. So, no im not talking about all 40 million players who bought the game at some point. I’m just requesting the devs to not make metas last 3 Seasons, to make changes to the game more frequently, to give us better events like they did year 1 and 2 to some extent to give us a Guild system or something, some more weekly rewards and achievements that are not just lootboxes. Some more fun challenges like Bastet more Lore. All of that to make Overwatch HAPPENING again. Maybe a few more Developer updates everyone loves Jeff’s videos
Age has nothing to do with respect when the opinions expressed are asinine.
Smurfs are supposed to exit low elos quickly but at minimum there is a perception problem. The devs of this game have been warned many times about this but obviously they haven’t cared. I hope the extra money they made from smurf accounts was worth it to them.
It isn’t a perception problem, it is a SR manipulation problem. Smurfs leaving low ELOs was based entirely on the smurfs playing at their best, and never throwing games.
By smurfs I mean people who have thrown down to screw with the newbies. Not people running alt accounts.
It’s a three year old game, most games die out after a single year. Honestly we’re lucky the game has lasted this long, it may just contend with league in terms longevity if it ever becomes free.
Also I don’t think you understand just how much goes into these events, they can’t just crap out new game modes because you say. These things take time and if they don’t deliver anything but 100% across the board people like you (no offense) will just come back and say ‘new event is so bland game is stale’
It’s true, you can say what you want but the game is three years old and not many last this long. If you play nothing but it, you’re in for a bad time. As far as smurfs, you may as well suck it up.
Not every smurf is some Widow god from the 15th dimension.
Also if you were putting hours into a video game for extended periods of time of course the game will get stale. YOU DON’T DO ANYTHING ELSE. It’s meant to entertain but do something too much and it will obviously become bland.
How about going outside? PLaying other games? You know doing things that keep games fresh.
When I first got this game I set out to play, learn, and master (changed to be decent after seeing what masters of a class entails lol) every hero
The result? I don’t find the game to be stale at all. If I get bored playing a specific hero I can just start learning a new hero and a whole new world opens up.
The map that was so 1 dimensional for my Orisa becomes a damn playground for Lucio. That map that was dull for Lucio becomes a sniper heaven for Ashe. That round Koth map that was the death of me as Rein is hella fun as Winston.
I came in a little after you did but I have yet to really get bored with the game. I’ve gone and mained a little over half the roster at some point but it’s slow because I may go back to playing Mei after I try to use her and I realize how rusty I got.
You make your own fun in a game with so many options. I’d compare it to Skyrim. Sure if you run that 2-handed Orc warrior over and over the game becomes stale but try out a caster, an illusionist rogue (so OP), an archer, ext, ext and the game has new life.
