Visibility of ones profile doesn’t make for a team player. The same goes for a person on your team, they aren’t necessarily a team player.

I appreciate the backup. But honestly it’s just private because I’d rather listen to the baseless accusations of salty crybabies than the totally valid accusations of salty crybabies. They’re gonna happen regardless, may as well have them be based on nothing but guesswork.

I prefer to leave mine public so that at least a few baseless accusations can be prevented.
Or on occasion ill even get teammates that check my profile and then back me up in some regards.
Also because most scrims/tourneys etc require a public profile

I think to put your post more simply, Overwatch is only a team game either when you’re lucky enough to randomly MM into a cooperative group with complementary skills, or if you slowly build your own team over time through messaging, practice, scheduling and playing together.

In the other 99% of the time when you just get random throwers, leavers, stubborn one-tricks, toxic personalities, uncooperative/inflexible players, mismatched mindsets/skillsets, etc., it is NOT a team game, just random incompatible strangers temporarily thrown together trying clumsily to win in spite of one another.

Which I can agree with, and is why I think the game desperately needs a proper guild system so people can create or join proper teams.

Well I think you should correct your statement.

  1. Overwatch is a team based game
  2. Solo comp is a single player game
  3. Grouping up in comp from 2 to 4 is the co op mode

I think Overwatch in overall has both elements to it. It is true that grinding ladder ultimately comes down to single player mode. But there are times when total random strangers are able to make a great team and able to coordinate as one.

thats not true, a team doesnt need to be good at all

you can literally pick random people from the street and form a “team” on any competition, doesnt matter if they are bad or not you still formed a team

it is a team game on the simple fact that you cannot carry, you must rely on your team mates in order to win, in csgo and league you can actually carry if you are good enough, but in overwatch, it is actually impossible to do so

seriously though. if people dont want to work together bc of their own hubris thats not the game’s fault. it’s the players’. it’s like holding a gun backwards and pulling the trigger. not the gun’s fault for the “accident”. youre doing it wrong. I do work quite well with many people in ow and we do work as a team.

I’ll explain this in the simplest way possible.

  1. Play like a good teammate, enable teammates, pay attention to your teammates = get rewarded and climb ranks
  2. Don’t be a good teammate, play whatever you want whichever way you want without considering your teammates = get punished and have a super unfun hard time winning games
  3. You are a good teammate, but its not your fault and other 5 players are not playing team based, one tricking dps or some crap
 You’re probably gold rank or below and need to work on shotcalling and positioning. Other than that accept that you cannot win every single effing game you play

Do you really thing this game needs to completly reinvent itself with the way its played and balanced, just because you sometimes have bad teammates and lose matches in it?

Oh lord its this guy again. Guys literally he is a troll and does this almost every other daily. All he is trying to do is get a rise out of you so he can flag your posts. He did it to me last week.
