Overwatch inminent death?

Time to doompost, sorry not sorry

I dont want to accept pve is death and the story will never be explored, that the game will die with a cliffhanger and nothing will happen ever again with the plot, that blizzard is not that stupid to not exploit overwatch potential with a multimedia franchise, but is pure copoum like you say, well now talking about the game

now what? whats the point? with no story content and a lot of people fired what future this game can have, if you read the article about the pve cancelation (which seems kinda untrustworthy if you ask me, the infromation is scare, no source, like kotaku article everyone dismissed) they said profits are terrible too, the game is not making money, developers got a bonus for profits, the game is doing so bad they had no bonus and maybe will not have a bonus anymore, microsoft who was going to save the game fired everyone and clearly dont care about overwatch, they may be smart and know the game is doomed, not only working on pve got fired, art department, people who make maps, skins and the writters who not only write the script of the pve but the story of the characters, voice lines, lore, interactions, every department who was not workin only on gameplay got scrapped, this game have future?

Some may say content anounced some days ago of upcoming seasons is a lot and they have a roadmap with a lot of content for pvp but think about it, what content? a new hero, yeah well, the minimum of content, nothing special about it, aaron keller already said yesterday she may not have a cinematic just some short story or comic “little cute piece of lore” she will have interactions? maybe because the character was made before everyone got fired but what about next heroe? mauga got relased with only 1 skin and was on the battle pass, what a drop of quality, venture will have 0 skins? and with every character free what incentive they may have to make more? may as well stopping making more characters now that all of them will be free, no more profits from battle passes, i still find very suspicious they announced 2 heroes before mauga was relased, they have never done that

Now you may think, they are making a lot of maps and a new mode, mode that was show before everyone got fired and the new map is just the map we didnt got in season 9, and none of this content will come in season 10, season 10 have nothing announced, only venture and a $25 skin, no more events? maybe not because people working on them got fired too, enviorement artist and writters who make new interactions and maps for the events, and they want to focus only on pvp which is already bad and cant do antyhing to fix it with 5vs5

What future a game with no profits, no workers, no trust from players can have? i know 1 thing, i may play a lot less, there is no need for it, heroes are free now, i dont have to grind, i may play some matches to try her and thats it, with no story why i would care about the charactesrs or this game? gameplay is bad, the lore and characters is one of the reasons i stuck with overwatch, the potential was infinite, i think is time to go back to paladins, characters and lore is boring but overwatch 2 will be on the same boat, at least gameplay is fine and they dont need to make extreme changes

Why doomers always made the same mistake – wall of text… really, you can do better – short and rhythmic, like motto — pve today, mercy ga tomorrow! Rise legions of kindness, end is near
… something like this

Sheen… This is the fifth year in a row you’ve shown “OW is Dead!” in class.

The game is successful enough to keep going for a while. Death for the existing playerbase? Probably.

OW1 was popular since it catered to everyone if you couldn’t aim like a Monster-Fueld, Dorito-munching click fiend, you can still be viable.

OW2 is heavily leaning towards generic shooter #3,478 and the wider playerbase that catapulted OW1 to success have moved on since they are no longer welcomed.

If Overwatch is doing as bad as certain reports say.

i admit putting death on title was misleading, i dont mean death as overwatch 1 and closed servers, death like no more updates, just servers open, like heroes of the storm, the drop of content may happen with everyone fired, space ranger could be the last hero, if the lore people got fired they will be so mediocree to lanuch heroes without lore?

They can still put out the same low effort content to sell skins, more poorly thought out, poorly balanced heroes and maps, more “events” that get boring almost immediately.

It will probably be like original Overwatch, where they just shoehorned cool ideas in with little connection to the story or forethought in how new characters and concepts fit in. It was obvious there was no story bible early on.

It’s why there’s been so many retcons over the years. Someone tried to pull everything together into a coherent and cohesive story a few years down the line. They were moderately successful.

of course, focus only on skins and keep ruining the gameplay with experiments nobody wants, patches that are removed in one week and never adressing the elephant in the room, 5vs5 was a mistake, but content, content, may be over

oh god i would love is like original overwatch at least, the plot was going nowhere but at least we got a semi constant relase of content, comics, short stories, animated shorts, i would love if thats the case, but not even that, i may forget pve is death if they focus on the story but not, is over

You might be surprised with the number of people perfectly fine with the keys blizzard is jangling in front of them, people are genuinely good with what blizzard is putting out.

Standards are low round here.

It’s certainly an uphill battle for them.

Getting rid of staff while so many good multiplayer and single player titles coming out will make ow 2 hard to be noticed.

There’s no wave of hype around it like other releases or updates that other games have.

If Clash is an addictive mode there may be a chance.

But they have to do more aggressive changes if they want to grow this game.

Ow 2 is in a tough spot. At least it ain’t as rough as Diablo 4. Those devs are getting lapped by so many ARpgs

It’s like a horse with a broken leg
Look up what happens to them

write it in a math equation then,

game = death

have you seen that one Family Guy episode? (or a clip from it?)

You forgot the x squared and minus 2

Tank gameplay = enemy tank - Orisa = 0/0

Looks like blizzard forgot to square the tank :upside_down_face:
