Overwatch high latency

I playing Valorant, LoL, Warzone eu servers. My ping in generally 40-50 ms around. But in Overwatch EU servers my ping 185 an in game. This is my tracert test. Insanely high as you can see.

The last hop in both texts quoted above is the Seabone node in Milan. Seabone would be a third-party networking peer your ISP pays to route its traffic outside the country. Despite having Blizzard in the start of the name, the domain is owned by Seabone and therefore not within Blizzard’s control. I believe this is an underwater cable.

It’s likely the EU servers for those other games are not hosted in the same place as Overwatch.

Personally, I’ve seen players post about this problem in the forum (with this node specifically). Your best course of action is report the test to your ISP so they can talk with Seabone on behalf of their customers.

Yesterday I bought static ip service in my ISP. After that my ping dropped to 78-80. I took a screenshot about that. I don’t have CMD copy. Please check this screenshot.

As you can see this is also have a Seabone connection but everything is normal. I don’t know how but i think “seabone” not a problem himself.

Hey Spaceman,

It is also possible that Seabone happened to fix the issue relatively quick after you posted about it. I checked some connection data for your specific ISP in your country and found that other users in your area experienced this latency spike, but it appears to be back down to normal latency now.

Having a static IP should not really have any effect on the latency you’re getting to the game server, unless your ISP is throttling users without static IPs for some reason.

Latency spikes along the route like this can happen due to a number of different issues (backbone router hardware problems, maintenance, problems with software updates on switches/routers, etc). So I’m glad to see that appears to have been resolved fairly quickly.

Actually not resolved. Cause my ISP want 30 Turkish Lira for a mont if you want static IP. I just checked this stuation with static IP and ye seem solved but not permanently for me. Cause i don’t want pay every single month for static IP. Thank’s anyway, we agree that this issue is not caused by Blizzard.
