  • The hero Iā€™m thinking about is Mercy.
  • My word is ā€˜happyā€™.

Currently, a lot of Mercy mains arenā€™t happy with her current state. Since 2016, weā€™ve seen many changes to her due to the ā€œunfun to play againstā€ argument, and the ā€œhide and resā€ dramatizations pushed maliciously from some of the top 1% of players, to change how she was originally designed to be played for their benefit, rather than the 99%.

Myself and many Mercy mains from a wide variety of ranks, representations, and backgrounds, were happy with her in her original form, albeit, requesting that she just needed to be tweaked so her ressurect had a bit more counterplay, and that she was given an e-ability.

Despite these minor requests, as we know, Mercy was suddenly changed against the wants of her players. Not to make them happy, but rather, to make happy those that play against the hero. This has backfired however, when the rework resulted as being one of the most catastrophic changes weā€™ve ever witnessed in the history of the game, and to some, with how itā€™s spawned the infamous Mercy meta, making her OP for 5+ months straight, and needed to be nerfed into oblivion with 12+ nerfs just to balance, the rework has arguably been seen as one of the biggest failures in the game as well. In short, many of us, the players, were not happy. Today, despite all of the patch-notes, years later, many of us stillā€¦ Arenā€™t happy.

Our needs were simple. We want Mercy to be made engaging, rewarding, and impactful again, and have impact. We want her to be a hero that is able to make amazing plays and have her own big game-changing moment like everyone else. But we are restrained from that. We are told that ā€œ#MercyIsFineā€ despite the outcries, despite the hundreds of thousands of complaints in literally hundreds of thousands of posts in a multitude of threads and megathreads. We are ignored, and our concerns are put on the back burner. And the repercussions of a lack of an ultimate that can stop ultimate spam, power creep, and ā€œMost Qs winā€ strats, is starting to take itā€™s toll on both the game, and its community.

People have been leaving in droves, the game has stagnated, and despite efforts to retain those that are still playing the game with some new content, patches, and a new hero, the game struggles currently to keep up with the other shooters that offer so much more to their consumers. Famous Overwatch Youtubers are leaving or have left to play other things. The damage has been done, and the game is effectively risking a downward path to irrelevance. But still, I believe there is hope.

I am happy, despite all of this, because I believe there is still a chance for my favorite hero to be made into one that everyone can enjoy. I believe that the game has developed enough to allow for a revert/rework of Mass Rez + The Tweaks. Giving it line of sight, a 1.25s cast time, and a 30% damage reduction instead of invincibility. I believe that Valk, which to me, feels incredibly lackluster, and more like a glorified spectator cam than an impactful ultimate, benefits more as an e-ability on a cooldown, rather than ressurect - which was her original ultimate to begin with. I believe that switching the two is not only beneficial, but crucial if the goal with her is to widen the amount of players who are happy with her state in the game.

I believe thereā€™s a way to return her back to her former glory, and adjust her to not be too strong, but also, be more fun to play by a lot more players. That type of change that meets a middle-ground for both the lovers of Valk and the lovers of Mass Rez and unifying them, in essence, is what I believe will make not only the Mercy players happy, but everyone else who are currently loathing the ultimate spam and power creep that is running rampant in the game right now. And Iā€™m happy that one day, with the changes speculated to be made to Mercy in a future update, we have the chance to see what they have in store for her. Be it a revert, a rework, or a minor buff, it makes me happy that the devs no longer see Mercy as #Fine, and are willing to look into improving her in the future. Hereā€™s hoping!

~Sincerely Yours xoxo,
a Lover of True, Fair, and Fun Balance.

Word - Dog

Symmetra now has a DOG who helps her by attacking enemies that focus her. He deals 50 dmg per second and lasts forever. However he has 500 hp and canā€™t be healed, after dying he appears again 25 seconds later.

McCree: Jungle

Now McCree can summon his fellow jungle denizens (mostly consisting of monkeys, gorillas, etc.) to wreak havoc on the enemy team.

McCree gains a second ultimate!

How an old western cowboy befriends an entire jungle ecosystem? Convince the entire jungle that a gentically modified gorilla named Winston is a threat to jungleā€™s everywhere and must be eliminated.

If there is a Winston on the enemy team, all of McCreeā€™s ā€œfriendsā€ will focus him down over anyone else.

And how about a unique elimination line for eliminating Winston with this ability.

McCree: Sorry, Winston. But youā€™re one Gorilla the jungle just isnā€™t ready for.

If an ally Winston witnesses McCree get a kill with his new ultimate:

Winston: ā€œI have so many questions. Should I even ask?ā€

McCree: ā€œThat would be a HARD no from me, partner.ā€

I normally like your posts butā€¦ itā€™s just a forum gameā€¦

Anyway, Moira and extra - extra healing or dps perhaps?

Or maybeā€¦ EXTRA ORB: Moira can now throw two of the same orb in succession! Either two healing or two damage, much like Junkratā€™s mines.

My word is ā€œlickā€
Orisa: Now has her puppy of her Christmas emote. It doesnā€™t do anything but lick her face, making Orisa to giggle.

Sombra - ā€œelectrical outletā€

Sombraā€™s EMP gets reworked into a deployable object, in the form of an electrical outlet. This object will disable abilities for as long as itā€™s there and it can stay there for a long time. Sombra can re-hack this outlet and keep it up and running, healing it for about 300 health, but it can be easily shut down due to only having about 600 health. The outlet can stick to surfaces and has about roughly around the same size the actual EMP has.
