It’s aggravating, annoying, and honestly i find myself quitting out of games more because of cc than actually bad games. I’m tired of having control rested away from me because someone hit right mouse click. Every single character besides moria that has been added has some form of cc. it honestly makes me not want new characters. I really think that crowd control is one of overwatch’s biggest problems, its not fun to play in too, its not fun to get killed by, most cc doesn’t even take a high amount of skill to use/followup so in my mind its not even justified.
I hope either it gets toned down in the future or a new hero to combat constant stuns is released, however odds are the next hero just going be another cooldown based hero that relies on stunning people or taking away their ability to play. I don’t really have any other solutions to offer cause blizzard already pushed the game in this direction and they usually don’t change directions once the ship has set sail. That is my rant i’m just an angry rein main tired of being knocked around. i miss when the most annoying cc was flashbang
If anyone wants to say their thoughts on crowd control feel free.
there needs to be at least somewhat of a balance. think of a character like McCree - unless you find one short simple stun like that oppressive and want them removed from the game and all characters with CC reworked or nerfed, a character like McCree is going to be significantly underpowered in a ‘bubble meta’
Sometime i feel like i’m playing another game while playing this game. You get shield-bash by Brig, Flashbang by McRee, Sleep by Ana, Hooked by Hog, halt by Orisa, Conc blast by Pharah and then Boop, Upperfist. Arrrrrgh!.
Here to me hoping all of those would stop. Something tells me it won’t. I might keep getting worst with new heroes.
Imagine “Balance” as a straigh horizontal line… just like one of these old Scales.
Now imagine “Overwatches Balance” as a parabola or… one of these old Scales with a ton of weight on both sides… one side being Mobility the Other being CC and the rest is in the middle.
Overwatch has so much Mobility and due to it’s design Moblitiy has so much Power in the game that it pretty much needs a ton of CC to balance it back out.
I think the problem isn’t any one CC ability or character, but that there are a lot of heroes across multiple roles that have access to multiple forms of CC, or very low cooldown CC. A lot of the newer characters have been specifically built around CC, leading to it becoming even more powerful, more plentiful, and easier to apply. On top of all the new CC that has been added, some existing CC has been buffed, like Mei’s freeze piercing.
At least the good news is that we are probably very close to the CC saturation point where the amount of CC brought is limited by the number players instead of which heroes have easy stun abilities. So I don’t think it can get too much worse than it is now.
He was also notorious for reworking Talent trees every other month. His tenure on WoW is what drove my wife from playing the game, and she never looked back afterward. She was sick and tired of relearning her class every couple of months, because he can’t seem to balance without reworking things.
And his reworks never panned out in WoW, either. I was glad when he left WoW. Had I realized in 2016 that he was doing the same work for Overwatch, I would never have touched this game.
Actually, I just said “he can’t seem to balance without reworking things.” Correction: he can’t seem to balance anything, at all.
I mean, this whole Brigitte fiasco? Yeah, this isn’t his first rodeo with something like that.
