Overwatch hacking watchdog threatens to release cheat source code

google that because we cant use links, as blizzard wants to hide how broken this game is

Ever since this has been stated / a week has gone by I cant win a game. I literally cannot, my main account I am diamond heals / tanking(i suck at dps) and on my alt I have now deranked in the last week to 1918 from 2800. I hate to be this guys claiming “hacks” but i just had a gold match where a bastion was shooting sombra stealthed across the map and knew every corner I was the entire game. I am seeing more and more people shooting like OWL members claiming “get good”. To me I am noticing these players much more at lower ELO’s having 0 positioning skills 0 ability timing just poping off insaine shots .

Am I going crazy? Is anyone else noticing this as well? I truly love this game but its really becoming unplayable

Wait, I got that backwards. I thought they were going to release the game source code (somehow) if blizz didn’t improve anti-cheat.

Yes, sorry my thoughts werent presented clear. Im saying all these LOW elo wanna bees are now purchasing the cheaper aimbots making the game unplayable. There is a hacker literally in about 50% of the games, when i was a young head I would hack BF and its so obvious. Lining up corners where you would never look out of audio range / shooting invis sombra with no Line of sigh, insta headshots from widdow on DVA ejects and piledrives. Stuff you would expect to see @ high diamond / Masters not in silver with someone who is in the middle of the open as mcree

The cheaper and older games get the more people hack.
Thats just how it is. Also had 3 games today with hackers who would literally hit every shot and have every second shot be a hs.

So over a week has passed since this news and we’re yet to hear about this elusive “hacking tool”. It’s probably just some sad dps who believes he’s a GM player getting F***ed by “the system”.

The amount of cheaters with bronze game sense and owl level aim is so common now lol. The funny part is, you can still beat them even they got aimbot, because their gamesense is so bad lmao.

They said this over a month and a half ago and nothing happened, no source was released, and cheaters are still running rampant in the game regardless.

It’s the wackjob that heads the “OverwatchPD” community, and it hasn’t been a week, it’s been over a month. Dude’s off his rocker.

Not only that, but it seems pretty bunk. Releasing the source code for a supposed hacking tool is the quickest way to get it fixed.

I don’t remember I got hackers ever. I have never seen someone eliminating me in such illogical manner.

I had situations before where I used my ultimate because I think I had to, just to contest the point and when I used my ult, there was like 1 or 2 players on the objective and just as I used it, other 3 appear out of nowhere and denied my ultimate.

I said, “that is just my luck” and then other toxic morons say “That is not luck, that is just bad game sense”. In Gold tier.

I’d rather have hacker any time than a trash-bag like that because comments like that are not helping anyone except their sadistic ego.

I do mind that Reinhardts ultimate can hit you even when you hide behind the corner. Like, I know it’s going to happen, I hide around a meter or two behind the corner and it gets me.

Regardless, if they are tracked, authorities can detain the individual under Computer Fraud and Abuse Act. I think what they are doing is not necessary. Their opinions are cruel to the developers and their threats will not only ruin their reputation but a potential arrest

They should have banned the guy for being so obsessed with the game and having a hissy fit to get his way about hackers. Read his twitter, he’s squirrelly.

i dont play dps dude. People make $ streaming this game, why would they not hack to make money like your typical lazy gamer?

I genuinely wish I would experience hackers in my games in NA on PC, but I have maybe one or two experiences where I questioned the validity of another player before putting it in the back of my mind and refocusing on the fight and making sure I don’t give them the chance to shoot me before I can correct on their position or something…

I know mine will be the unpopular opinion but I just haven’t had this experience. Guess I’m lucky (or blind?).

Its not diamond and around S15 (I think) I went from 3600 to 2600 and back to 3600 within one day. Literally lost around 40 games in a row and then won around 40 games in a row.

I think the guy is just a justice fighter. He is destroying cheats by making them stronger and more oppressing.

It’s necessary because Blizzard legitimately doesn’t care about people cheating. They just wave the magical matchmaker wand over them to wish them away. They only say they care™ when it’s bad for PR.

Case in point: Jeff promised two patches ago in the dev update video that the next 2 patches would have anti-cheat updates. All the memory hack cheats are online and weren’t even affected.

Today a streamer was suppressed by Blizzard for cheating. It was live. The streamer kept trying to login to Blizzard on multiple accounts. They would be logged on for a couple seconds before getting expelled from the servers and banned.
