Overwatch devs are

…FREAKIN’ GODS!

Seriously. First you blow my mind with Symmetra rework, by opening up immense potential for new strategies. Then you blow my mind with the potential for Sombra (give it time folks, they’re on the right path with their infiltrator idea).

And now you bring us Hammond the Wrecking Ball, who is the most amazing hero I ever played. Even though I main Zen and Widow (2nd acc), I’m usually more of a flex player who fills every role that’s required. I just think that if you have a good team, every role can be very enjoyable.

As I’ve installed and then played him on the PTR yesterday, I just couldn’t stop. Even though I really suck at playing him, it’s so much fun, and the possibilities this brings are so vast… I’m blown away, again.

Blizzard, I LOVE YOU. I never would’ve imagined playing a hamster in a mecha ball would be what I want. But here I am… I can’t wait to practice him until I become amazing at swingin’ and wreckin’.

Now, before you blow up from disagreeing. It’s fine. It’s my opinion, and I’m so ecstatic that I had to share it. I love this game more than ever, and in my opinion it just became the best game I ever played. And I have been a hardcore gamer for over 20 years now, with more games played than I can count.

Great job blizz, you are awesome. Keep it up. <3

How you can nerf a hero and call it a buff is also mind blowing to me.

Here’s your well deserved Like: :blue_heart:

Idk how much they like people putting “devs” In the title, btw…

But yea, i (Almost) COMPLETELY Agree.
(If only the devs would now address Bastion, then i could forgive them…)

Hammond is a Non-Tank players Dream Tank.

Looks like Zenyatta mains really like these Sombra’s “buffs”…

I actually played a lot of Sombra on my 2nd acc. I like her a lot, and I don’t mind being destroyed by her as zen, since zen is already so strong that it’s good to have good counters.

Now, I don’t think that the current version is the final one. In that regard, I don’t specifically think her current version is what blows me away, but rather the thought process of what they want to make out of her (or at least what I believe they want).

I think they want Sombra to become an infiltrator and information gatherer. Basically, you use her infinite stealth to gauge enemy positioning precisely, and then setup the perfect engage with your team. You must understand that I love strategizing beyond everything else, so I always like it when new potential avenues open up.

Sure, lets give it ~2 weeks and if anyone complains we change it without PTR testing.

Of course, the famous second account. Everybody has it, nobody shows it.

The problem with all the negativity here is that barely anyone on the forums has an understanding of complex systems. Everything seems easy to fix if you believe reductionistic solutions can be applied. But that’s not how it works.

Not to say overwatch is completely perfect. It cannot possibly be, because there is more than one goal to achieve (ideal balance for high level play, fun, fairness, variety in strategies). Hence, perfection is literally impossible. However, the blizzard team does an amazing job at working towards those goals.

Uh, when you fired up that PTR, did you try Sombra at all? It’s a nerf. No time needed.

As I’ve already mentioned, if it isn’t good enough I think they’ll adjust. What I’m talking about is more the idea of her role, than the exact numbers.

I main Zenny and Iam indifferent at the moment. Wont help her if those will be only changes.

Sounds interesting, i always hated to play tank, so I’m looking forward to test him today

I honestly don’t think the devs actually care about Sombra anymore. They nerfed her immediately after making changes to her kit that actually made her viable, and then bugged the hell out of her, and instead of FIXING THE BUGS, they also nerf her other two abilities that were fine.

Unfortunately he’s not really a tank in the sense that your team will be happy you are playing him in the tank roll.

He can dive in and disrupt, that’s pretty much it. He offers no shield or protection for the team and can’t block anything besides his fat body.

At least dive tanks like Winston can throw up a barrier and give brief protection to the team from snipers and key abilities… Hammond has none of that, he’s more single objective focused than any other tank I think.

With every positive thread, there always has to be people ruining the mood with “but what about…” comments.

I agree with you, by the way, SunTzu. And to add onto the “skillful play” topic, let’s not forget that hitscan heroes are being buffed with the damage falloff changes. I can’t wait to get back into playing McCree, Soldier, Bastion, and especially Mei, and be rewarded for my aim.

And I just realized something. We are less than a month into Year 3 of Overwatch, and Blizzard has already introduced solutions and fixes to almost every problem Overwatch has had for quite a while. Isn’t that incredible?

I don’t think it’s fair to assume they don’t care. You must understand that every possible change must be considered in the grand context of the game. It’s not easy to get it right, especially when it comes to a complicated hero like Sombra.

I’m an entrepreneur, and I often work on hard to solve problems. Sometimes, the “spark” that leads to the right idea takes a while. It’s really really hard to force solutions to complicated problems. And sometimes you have the solution, but haven’t found the right arguments to also make it appear as such.

His disruption through wrecking and slamming down creates space, as a tank must do. Furthermore, his damage potential makes it hard to ignore him. He’ll probably the highest skill cap tank we’ve seen so far. Kinda like the widowmaker or tracer of tanks.

I get your point, but fixing her bugs first would go a long way towards helping her find her niche in the game, in my opinion. She might be fine now if she played correctly instead of bugging out all the time.

I did fine as her. Even with this “nerf”. Is it what i wanted? nope but it does free me up to leave my translocator in safer places. My ideal fixes would have been to take away the animation when entering and exiting stealth since they were pointless but Infinite steal/translocator life is not bad. She got some bug fixes too and her damage is way better now.

This is what excites me is he is fun but the varying degree of skill and knowledge of maps is pretty key to playing him well. Im glad we did not get another spam hero. On top of this he feels quite balanced too. His grapple needs a little fixing in minor things such as inconsistency when hooking something. Other than that he is probably the best hero we have gotten in my opinion.
