Overwatch Daily Quests

So I had an idea to help some with player retention.
What if Overwatch had a few daily quests like HotS or Paladins?
Like, ‘play X times today’ or ‘Deal X amount of damage today’.
Upon completing a quest you’d get like 5000 bonus XP or some credits for cosmetics.
Thoughts?

Noone really cares about XP.

No. That will kill Quickplay and flood it with players concerned only with fulfilling the requirements of their dailies rather than team play. (For what little team play there already is).

I rather like the idea. It’s getting into the F2P territory, but hey, so are Loot Boxes. Haha. Thing is, it probably won’t happen. More free XP = More free boxes = less real money being spent on boxes… or, at least, thats how Activision will see it. They “can’t give away this stuff for free”, you know, they’re “only” a multi-Billion dollar company.

(btw, in case it wasn’t obvious, my last sentence was sarcasm).

People are going to be playing quickplay anyways lmfao. Op is just trying to suggest fun little extras but as always someone has to be negative about it :unamused:

It really depends on how it’s handled. If it’s not hero-specific, it should be alright. It could actually encourage pushing for the point, doing well with damage/healing, etc.

Not trying to be negative, just realistic. Something like dailies would be better confined to Arcade, which already has skewed versions of Quickplay.

not a fan of time limited quest stuff

i prefer the way Vermintide does it, challenges that stay until completed but once finished you’ll get new ones the next day

That would also be extremely viable, no doubt.

yeah. and add hero levels/progression while we’re at it. 3 years later and still no progression other than player level. give us some stuff to work towards. but they said they have 3 big things coming for ow so heres hoping progression is one of them-

It’s a decent idea but I think something like “Win two matches” or “Play two matches as support” would be better. Heroes of the Storm does quests like that and they’re a nice little goal to reach before logging off when I play that. I’d rather people were trying their hardest to win rather than trying to reach a specific healing or damage goal in a way that might not actually be contributing to the team.

The quest idea is a great way to roll out cosmetics while in between events, if anything. Just like they are doing now with Ana’s Bastet skin.

That’s another idea to think on. Doesn’t have to be dailies per se, could be a week long challenge or something. Doubt they’d want to use skins as a reqard every time though since those take some time to develop.

I think that’s the general idea. Your dailies could just stack. You log in, get a daily quest, and even if you log out without completing it, it would stay on the list and it would stay there forever until you complete it. There’d probably be a limit to how many you could have active, maybe 3 or 5, but once you get the challenge, you wouldn’t be limited on when to complete it.

This should have been added ages ago.

I am not sure what exactly they are waiting for. There is literally nothing to do in the game.

I just log in to do the weeklies in the 1st day and that is it.

Beats the same old we have now. I would be for it.

Many people already have all the items in the game after about 6 months.
Tbh it would just be there and no one would do them because they have no real reason to do so.

This would be more a thing for casual players who don’t play terribly often as is and new ones to give them extra motivation to play.
Also wouldn’t hurt anyone to have some extra credits for when events come around.

I get thousands of credits from loot box duplicates alone. Being a casual player usually means you just play whatever whenever because you can.
I just don’t see the xp being anything useful for anyone other than alt accounts.

Could be the case. I don’t know. I’m not trying to say this is an idea that’s gonna save acti-blizz from all their recent troubles, but it’d be an easily implemented little something to help pad their stats.
