I am not able to read more besides “1 million times viewed”, but nonetheless, this is certainly a surprise. OW was never a game that was easy to watch…
The copium is at an extreme with this one. Most people have no idea and dont really care. Not to mention that we will get the first test at earliest sometime next year.
Sorry to burst y’alls bubble. I looked at the video live view count in video details which shows the exact numbers, and noticed that 1 million is not moving… at all. It stayed completely still for 10 minutes. That literally impossible for a live stream to have that many viewers and nobody leaves or comes in in 10 minutes. Pretty obvious something is not right here, so I did a little researching and found this

Common guys. Overwatch esports has never had anywhere close to that amount of viewers. Blizzard shuts down OWL because nobody watches it and then suddenly out of nowhere 1 million live viewers are watching it? Use your brain. And there is no way it would be more popular than twitch… literally 20,000 times more popular than twitch because the twitch EWC OW stream right now has 48 viewers LMFAO dead game

Bot views I guess, those don’t typically count.
X heavily inflates viewership. Like it doesn’t just actually fake views but it heavily skews what is counted as a view. Like on a different streaming website it might work along the lines of after you’ve watched for a minute you are now counted as a viewer and a few minutes later it will check if you’re still viewing and if you aren’t it will decrease the viewer count
But on X it’s more like you scroll down your feed and a stream gets recommended and it autoplays for 3 seconds and then you scroll past it you are counted as a viewer for the next hour
Those aren’t the exact numbers just an idea of how it’s done over there

Yeah, you can tell by OP being one of, if not the first post under official forum posts from the devs always thanking and praising them. Personally, I think they’re a bot and whoever runs it posted this because there’s no way a living human with a functioning brain would believe this post is actually legit. The tiniest bit of research will uncover just how misleading this post and twitter viewership actually is.
