AS of April 2026 i have not touched the game in well over a year, Ive had my grips with blizzard’s direction of the game ever since 2020.
Came back to play stadium and pickup genji again after hearing the legendary weapon skin. Was able to pick it up immediately and when the game actually decides to run im having a great time.
I run the game on a 3080 gpu on a 49 in monitor at 240hz, i have the game on medium to low settings (been that way since i started playing the game) and completely randomly the game will crash my GPU entirely.
Ive downloaded my event log and can confirm the crash is localized to overwatch as i do nto have any of these issues with any other games using the same settings if not more intense graphical settings
sidebar that is semi related:
when i use the exact same display settings for overwatch as other games im greeted with 2 giant black bars on the sides of my screen even though other games extend outward

Ive been able to isolate this more:
Overwatch specifically overheats my GPU in the middle of games to the point where it outright fails. No other game on high settings does this, and yet im running overwatch on LOW settings as much as i possibly can to prevent this from happening
