Overwatch connection issues

Hello all,

My battle net is able to connect to the servers. When I launch Overwatch, I am able to be connected to the servers for less than 30 seconds before I am disconnected. I updated my internet adapter plugin as well as windows. I have tried troubleshooting using the common fixes for network issues to no avail. I ran Looking Glass and I will post the results below. The only change I made to my connection/computer is a new wireless adapter but the firmware is up to date (Linksys AC1200). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey, Cow! The looking glass test here looks fine. This test runs from Blizzard’s servers to you and may not be helpful for individual situations usually. Could you run a WinMTR file instead? Run the test until the problem occurs for 5 to 10 minutes. Copy and paste the text file created and paste it between two ~~~ like so:

~~~
WinMTR Here
~~~

If you have issues pasting here, use Pastebin and post the end of the link. (ie. 123456 for pastebin.com/123456)

Thank you for the response. Here is the test results:

Thank you for the WinMTR test! It looks like there might be a problem at the home network here:

This could be high security settings or firewalls set up on the home network, but there’s a consistent 6% loss throughout the test.

The consistent loss, which doesn’t appear to be actual packet loss since the sent and received values are the same, does indicate some mitigation or prioritization issues.

In this situation, I would recommend to try resetting the router to factory default if possible and try disabling these settings:

Check for the following settings in the router and disable any that are enabled:
• QoS (Quality of Service)
• WMM (Wireless Multimedia)
• UPnP (Universal Plug and Play)

The settings for these can vary from depending on the device model. It’s not something that we help with directly because the settings and locations can vary. The router manufacturer or Internet Service Provider (if the router/modem was provided by them) can help look for these settings.

Let peace be upon you. It was my firewall that was the issue. Thank you!

Glad to hear the issue was fixed, Cow :slight_smile: Happy gaming!
