Overwatch competitive is nothing more than a glorified slot machine

There are predetermined odds. The game is designed to hook you in and keep you addicted. After playing 13 seasons, I’ve come to the sad conclusion that all this time I wasted on this game could have been spent on something else. Something a bit more satisfying and less soul sucking.

Btw… Video game addiction has been now classified as a mental health disorder. I’m thinking games like this do not really help the cause. I hope they’re doing their part on preventing this. Just saying …

Time wasted? Why. Why you kept plaxing if you didnt have fun.

Anyway basicly anything except procreation is wasted time in life if you think about it.

The predetermined odds give you an average chance of 50% to win. It’s nowhere near a slot machine lmao

There is something extremely suspicious about Overwatch, the matchmaking, and the win rates.

I went 5-1 the other night on this account. You’ll NEVER guess what tonight’s games were like…

Or maybe you knew it was coming because it happens all the time. Absolutely horrible unwinnable games and teams causing me to go 1-5. People running in and dying solo. Can’t even group up. All in consecutive games, oddly enough. It’s almost as if it’s rigged to force me to a certain win rate.

Wait, let me check my win rate now after tonight…

goes to check overbuff

YEP!

50.62% win rate. Wow. So predictable.

But not on my other account where i play the same heroes. Nah, that one was fine tonight.

Did you play the game or did you let the game play on you?

Think about it, no one forced you to get into it, no one is forcing you to keep playing either.

Moderation is the key, don’t bring these mental health BS to overwatch, if you have some issues go sort it out with meds and psychiatric but please just don’t mix things up

OW is the only game I know where wins/losses have almost nothing to do with player skill and everything to do with who the matchmaker wants to screw-over. Most matches are either landslide wins or landslide losses with very little in between, and the player (as an individual) has very little say in the outcome.

OW has been designed to be a literal slot machine.

No other game feels THIS crappy and rigged. Like, EVER in the history of gaming.

Blizz was too concerned about casuals and giving everyone a chance to win. Which means giving everyone an equal chance to lose as well.

Well, that’s idiotic and should have been shot down in the boardroom 4 years ago.

Pfftt, it came from the WHO, really are you going to take their word for it.

Next it will be facebook/twitter/snapchat/etc being a mental disorder, mmmm maybe get a life like people had when it wasn’t so easy to become lazy and sit infront of the comp/console all day, maybe get your children into sports and stop being lazy as a parent, maybe turn the thing off and go for a walk, meet new people, take up a hobby.

Yer yer yer, easier said then done right, no its not. Peoples mentality of everything is to hard and it needs to be handed to them is the problem.

Don’t you think gaming companies should have a social responsibility to address these issues?

Btw…on my other account, I was finally able to climb with a win streak. Got to 1 game away from hitting plat again and guess what happened next? Another suspicious string of losses. It is undoubtedly rigged. I’ve observed the same thing on every account I have. It happens like clockwork.

You are really going to try to pull the mental health card instead of owning up to the fact that you may not be as good as you think you are? Countless people were and still are able to climb in this game. Ask for coaching, watch some videos, up your aim. But don’t try to trivialize stuff selfishly. That’s foul.

Blizzard is specialized in developing game with subtle ways to induce dependency. This is why most of their marketing is child oriented (ez targets).
Do you ever wonder why Kaplan has been choosen for team director role even if he’s not fps competent and got 0 experience in this kind of games?

Aaah guys if you’d only know something about gaming story and culture…

When you buy a game that poses as something it isn’t you should just immediately stop playing it and ask for your money back. Instead of using Call of Duty’s as quality reference you should go back to games from 1998-2005 and then wonder what the hell happened to Blizzard, and what the hell happened to gamers. The first answer is “Activision” and the second answer is that you all became spoiled, lazy and ignorant. In the past people organized their own tournaments, created their own ladders, servers, networks and merchandise, but now they expect game makers to supply everything. Remember what happened; this game was rushed onto the market after “Project Titan” failed to materialize and Blizzard needed to cut their losses. I was told they used game world assets from Titan and based Overwatch on them, but I don’t know for sure. What I do know for sure is that this forum is full of whiney nerds who think everything is just going to be handed to them. Virtual honor badges for winning some games where they didn’t even know who they were playing against, ranking systems like it even matters and Blizzard tournaments where 1500 furries watch a couple of spastic Koreans jump up and down in a 5x5m box in grrrl-power mech suits while a seemingly coked up commentator screams incessantly and tries to make sense of what cannot be understood - you got all of it. This is what you wanted so you could pretend to be “e-sports legends” or whatever. How is the aftertaste this time?

Can’t blame everything on Bin Laden anymore…
