Because very few people would play it. The forums thinks they would, but they’re misremembering how the game actually was. I mean, the meta at launch was 4 Winstons and 2 Lucios. I’ve always loved the game, but there have been so many improvements over the years. The core of the game is still the same, though. Doesn’t make sense to just undo features.

There’s tons of people outside of this forum that wants a 6v6 mode to return. Just look at comment sections on YouTube videos, other forums and on Steam. There’s clearly a lot of players who would like 6v6 to return in some way or form. I think both 5v5 and 6v6 are good but I personally prefer 6v6 when playing tanks. I do miss the tank synergies.
If 6v6 would have more players than 5v5 I don’t know but it would have more players tthan any of the the arcade modes since there are a large audience who’s fan of 6v6. I mean Fortnite has solos, duos, trios and squads and even build and no builds so there’s almost something for everyone. To me it would make sense to have 6v6 alongside 5v5 so players could play what they prefer or play both if they want to.
But there has to be some reason to why no 6v6 modes exists in the game because Blizzard has to clearly know there’s a lot of players who would play it. Perhaps it could be that they would have to balance for both modes differently or they have to rework new heroes abilities to work with 6v6.

Patience little one it’s like they say slowly but surely, eventually it will happen, specially now that bobby is out, but, we gotta wait maybe months, maybe just weeks, but, eventually we will get our game back.

Most people I find in my games want 6v6 and that’s not on forums it’s in gm lobbies so your statement is pretty much true.
And also I’m sure that 6v6 and 5v5 are pretty much 50/50.

It changed more than you think actually, first new heroes with questionable abilities, reworks, a lot and I mean a lot of removed features, monetization changes, worst progression system and of course 5v5 that changes the game fundamentally and makes it less unique and probably there is a lot more changes, but, I can’t remember everything right now.
So yes it’s more than fair to ow1 or ow classic to come back specially because they marketed ow2 as a different game so why isn’t the old game here

Was actually going to use that as an example because it makes my point. While there was an explosion of players when Classic launched, the numbers dropped off like crazy. There’s still a small, dedicated player base, but the vast majority of people didn’t stick with it, probably because they remembered how things actually used to be. Nostalgia wore off quickly. Brack was right.
What’s Overwatch Classic?
The game as it was on release?
Just before/after hero limits?
Just before/after role queue?
The day they pulled the plug?

OW Classic where we relive all the old patch notes in order, including Brigitte’s 1-year long run at the top / goats.

They wont split their player base the way they did with Wow Classic.
Everyone, who think OW classic is a possibility, are simply too delusional.

If they ever make OW classic, they would end up updating it faster than main game and we would have just two games working the same way

Not forget that are many iterations of Classic now with hc server, vanila server, sod server, wolk server,…

We will not get OW “classic”, because we dont have things like “LoL classic” or “Apex classic” or “Valorant classic”.
Its still the same game, with the same loop, just with a bunch of changes, we would have gotten otherwise in the 3 years of nothing anyway. Some people did not liked the change so that they could not play Torb 6 times in a team, some people did not like the change to 222 and last year some people dont like the change to 5v5.
Yes, open queue and the arcade no limits mode exist, but lets be real here: they are a joke and no one cares about them.
Which is not about to happen in another few years. And when it does, 6v6 won’t save it.
I feel it already happens as we speak.
The people that enjoyed 6v6 and the old overwatch just stop playing the game.
I never understood why people are so afraid of spliting the community and instead want that this people just stop playing the game entirely.
