I thought around season 5 in 2017 was the best version.
Ana had been nerfed, sym was usable, still had armorpacks and soul orbs, and lucio and mercy had qol adjustments (mass rez range had also been nerfed)

They will likely do several patches

if im reading this right, they dont include the words “role que” which is kind of scary since for me, i think 2-2-2 was the better version of the game
I’m sure they’d love to appease everyone. We’ll see what they do I guess
2-2-2 happened after goats. It’ll take a while to get there yet with so much happening before then.
Ya and almost the entirety of 2/2/2 was double shield. At least since the start till the end in scrims double shield was played. In a qp environment that wont be the case though.
Season 2-5 as a whole was great imo. S3 and part of 4 was triple tank, but it felt fine imo at the time, since it wasn’t around for too long, and we didn’t already have multiple triple tank metas. But end of s4 and s5 were peak to me, the good ol dive days with low healing since it was lucio zen meta.
Ya there was world of tanks period where it was 4 tanks (this was pre brig). But it was short lived.
Pretty sure it was also only on certain maps. I don’t even recall what season that was a thing.
It had something to do with Moira at the time. They fixed it quick though.

All seasons of OW1 pre RQ was at worst fine, with the exception of season 5 (dive) and dumbfist (7&8?)

I first started scrimming at the start of goats so I have a soft spot for that comp.
After role queue. It would have still been goats if role queue wasn’t added.
The initial version of double shields was a more rush down like version before it devolved into mass sustain.

Again personally, Brig was picked 24/7 but I never experienced any form of 303.
Mostly it was voluntarily 222 with brig, just like when Mercy was the FOTM
I guessed the mind set between west and east servers really differ a lot
Well before Brig/Bapt double shield it was Lucio/Bapt it then evolved a little for a moment into zen/bapt and then finally landed at Brig/Bapt which people remember because it lasted the longest due to no patches. This was all in scrims not really something you would see till later in comp (which always has a delay in meta compared to scrims) Which is why I laugh when people say october was the golden month as double shield was already upon you you just didn’t realize it yet.
