Overwatch app that tells us when we are in a match

I don’t know about you but personally when i start a dps queue i go and do other stuff and would greatly appreciate my phone telling me when i’m in a match so that i don’t lose another 50 sr. This could be built into the authenticater app which most people have anyway. Who would like this? Because I believe it will save many matches from not starting due to afk dps players.

This would be a great idea.

honestly this would be a life saver for me, it’s good to see that someone else feels the same

DPS queues long enough as is. Don’t need to facilitate even more people queueing DPS.

Or could have it where before a match begins, all players have to confirm they are there. After a certain amount of time, that player or group is kicked, and all other players are put right back into queue like they never found a match.

Just… why… its not that big of a problem and u just are increasing queues

I am pretty sure this actually already exists! I too, like to do other things. I will try find a link for you.

Because dps queue is soo long, it is impossiblle to solely play Overwatch on its own as a dps. The queue is twice as long as the games and even then, I queue yesterday for 20 minutes then someone leaves and game shuts down. I mean it isn’t ideal, I just continue playing other offline games in the background or watching a series.

But sometimes I don’t want to just play games/watch things, being an adult there often is not time to simply play something else untill queue pops up. You have food to prepare, a house to clean, a house to renovate or maintain? Not everyone can sit in front of their computer and wait 20 minutes for a queue to pop. But people do have the time to play when it does.

So I dont know why you all hate the OP for asking for something to assist lifestyle balance.

Here you go, unfortunately it is linked to discord.

Which is not ideal, but it exists and works :slightly_smiling_face:

I’m done doing that to myself.

In no video game e v e r should someone literally have to forcibly get up and do other things…because the lineup is just that bad. It goes against all the principles of gaming and is a massive fauxpas compared to industry norms and trends.

My games are some of the hardest, most sweatiest of tries. Losing the “hot seat” feeling by doing other stuff, like laundry, puts me at a huge competitive disadvantage. When you’re in the zone, you wanna stay there, and keep yourself in the game. The amount of downtime between matches just ruins my chance to get practice, stay hot, and climb.

In order of importance:

  1. A game client that installs, launches and works bug-free.
  2. Queues that at least let you play at all.
  3. Fairplay and gameplay integrity - proper ranked/matching structure.
  4. In-game balance, hero feel, game flow, mehanics, shop-level design.
  5. Others, like report system and chat toxicity.

The next dev update / experimental is going to worry about the oppression of crowd control. Is that really the prioritization we want from our devs, who work for us as customers?

I agree with you in sentiment completely, when you’re in the zone on a good streak/high awareness, none tilted ect. It does help. But I just work with what we have, yeah I probably don’t play my best because of the pauses and your mind is elsewhere at times as opposed to if you play consecutively you have more awareness ect and having warmed up has proven to make you react faster ect.

But we are where we are, so I just try and take it on it’s merits… OW DPS is not a game you can play hardcore, you can’t sit down and play OW as dps for 5h of gameplay in Comp. The reality is 3 of those hours you will be in a queue, 2 will be gameplay.

Its not ideal but it enables you to get other things done as well, frustrating perhaps if you want to hardcore for 10 hours gameplay ect. You literally can’t, OW DPS is not the game youre looking for. I have played Diablo for 18hours straight for consecutive days with a new season release ect - So I get you.

If you want a game to play on the side, Witcher 3, Animal Crossing is great given it is also somewhat limited daily, Civ 6, even Black Desert - Though if you didn’t play in the first year or two of release I wouldnt bother starting now (since everyone so far ahead you can’t catch up), but you can grind on there in between OW queue also though ect.

Would love instant dps queues, but sadly it won’t happen - that is why I don’t and can’t main OW because its not possible. It is still enjoyable between things though :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks man, I’ll dl this as soon as I get home.

I’m just throwing out ideas, I don’t think anything needs to be done so.

YESSSSSS PLEAAAASE. Bro like I dont mind waiting for a quality game I just wanna do other stuff while I wait instead of watchin youtube while I wait. Like with how long I wait I can make pasta dude and finish it and come back.

If you AFK to where you’re not around to see or hear the queue pop then you’re not the type of person I want on my team, especially not DPSing, because you have the attention span of a wet mop.

What why? Why don’t you unlock your profile lol?

What difference does it make? If you are sat there watching your queue time or if you are doing something productive? Either way you are not playing the game lol.

You make it sound like the OP has a choice, like there is an option to get instant queue and they don’t pick it… there is not. You have to wait 20 minutes lol…

I was just going to suggest this. I wear my wireless when in dps queue so if I get up and do dishes or go to the restroom I know that the queue pop’d!

Thanks for this, ill be sure to try this out

How about, instead, you don’t walk away from the game when you queue for Competitive.

If you disconnect and lose 50 SR because you went AFK, that’s on you to stop from happening, not Blizzard.
