I never expected a 2020 release.
If we go by the announcing/release date of Overwatch, I would expect sometime in May/June of this year.
2024 just seems ridiculous, especially if they’re going to keep with the “no new content until ow2.” I would say 2022 for sure.

On the off chance that this is proven true, Blizzard would have to waive away their “No new heroes until Overwatch 2”. They’d have to do something interesting, like giving out more Lore leading up to OW2, to keep the player base interested.
We know Blizzconline isn’t the most appealing currently, so they have to start looking more appealing if they are to keep player interest. If not, there are other games that could take advantage of their faults.

Sounds about right then if Blizz is truly committed in making OW2 good and not a trashfire like WC3 reforged/Cyberpunk.
That’s prob why they’re starting to drop new heroes hints after so long. They realize no way some players can’t last that long and so decided to just create new ones while working on OW 2.
I say if we’re back on schedule with regular heroes release, they maintain the current patch balances release as it’s helping the game state.

At this point Valve is more open about what they’re doing than Blizzard.

A delayed game is eventually good, Id rather have that then have it be crap at release and need 2 years of hotfixes to be worth the price.
The main issue is they need to stop stockpiling all content and release a bit of what theyve saved for OW2, at least toss us a few maps that arent for arcade mode.

I think it’s best to assume the worse, so that if it turns out false, everyone feels glad and if it turns out true, then it confirms it.
