Hi, do you think OW2 pre-orders will come anytime soon? I wonder what pre-order skin Blizzard has in store for us.

That’d be interesting. There will definitely be a pre-order at some point, though I wonder how early they would do it…
if we talk about a pre order, we also indicate a date. if i can be honest i would suggest not putting too much pressure on this ad.
according to some internal statements, the management of blizzard had announced the release date of Warcraft 3 reforged without even the developers who worked behind the project were informed, in full development. practically there was pressure to release something to sell, and this has certainly caused a serious shortcoming on the final quality of W3R.
That said, I strongly advise against asking for a sale on a product that has yet to come out or be announced with complete confidence. cyberpunk 2077 is the emblem of how much he earned too much without having given anything of the game yet, before its release (I mean, there were already gaming chairs!). OW2 already has the flaw that OW1 is treated as a waiting room by not releasing any heroes.
obvious question: and when will there be a date? they will probably never announce it while the OwLs are active, or rather if they peek another year with the 6v6 rules.
more like an estimated date if we talk about Blizz. For WoW their expansions usually has an estimated release date of “on or before Insert season/month Year XXXX”. and since we dont even have that yet then it seems pre-orders wont be coming soon.

Why would anyone preorder a digital item? That’s just tossing money into the wind.
The pre order will also be a beta for ow2

Probably another mercy or dva skin.
You know. Exploit the fanservice characters and appeal to the biggest mass.
imagine if the pre-order skin is like a bastion or zarya skin

I would say … for collecting. I mean, widowmaker noire was a skin that was only available via game preorder.
it is a vommervial tactic that if for some it doesn’t work … for those who love collections it does.
Noire skin was a only pre order skin so we bet they do it again for OW2.
One, they want the preorder bonus, obviously.
Two, you dont pay for preorders until the week before release. Preorders arent usually buying in advance, its holding a slot. So no money is being “tossed” any differently than just purchasing the day it comes out.

Yeah New Worlds you can litteraly buy for beta try it and refund if you play less than 2 hours.
I doubt very much that it is Mercy or Dva who get skin with the pre-order, it will surely be Widow, Mcce, Ashe , Mei or some new favorite.

Why?
Because Blizzard has a huge player exodus, not only OW but also WoW which lost 30% of it’s subscriber and the latest allegations will probably do a lot of harm to.
They need to stir hype and and make sure money is coming.
I agree. WIth how many games have had really crappy launches and pre-orders fueling the behavior I think it would be wise for people to pay for a product after its launched and you know what your getting. Give developers more incentive to launch with better quality.
Many launch days for games are really just beta releases and many preorder bonuses such as digital rewards are frequently really bad value compared to future content. Its to the point that many games are actually worth playing months after launch when major bugs have been fixed and patched out.
