Will Overwatch 2 come with an MMR reset? I feel like it’d be nice to be able to start fresh again and not have the baggage of past MMR follow you to the sequel.

With cross-play being a confirmed thing, I believe MMR will also be transferred over if you have an existing OW account for consistency.
Yup… sounds like a brand new game doesn’t it.

I think this would be a terrible idea. PC players moving to console, or vice versa will have a different skill level there.
Watch the panel after the opening ceremony.

I think he expected you to say it’s cross platform. Cross play from OW1 to OW2 same platform yes.
PC playing with Console, No.
I hope there’s an option to opt out of keeping your stats and MMR

the comp mode would be a living hell for mounths.

LOL. Comp is already a living hell and they already have no problems making major meta changing adjustments. Look at what happened when they went RQ in League comp? Suddenly teams that weren’t doing well were rocking it.
OW2 will have different play style and game dynamics. If people are “really” good, they should get back on top fast? The current ranking system is so fair and balanced right so nobody should be complaining. Or is it just a way to get more money from smurf accounts and keep the registered player numbers up? LOL. Like paying for OW2 and still keeping your same crappy locked SR cuz you’ve been playing since the game came out? Never know cuz we’ll never see those numbers. Either way, I look forward to OW2 as an expansion of sorts. But it would be a good chance to leave some of the contentious garbage behind and start anew with fresh problems.
