Overwatch 2 missing 3 skins

Hi,

After today’s update, I noticed that I’m missing some skins:

Genji - Heihu
Orisa - Fiend
Lucio - Dark Faun

Note that this is what I’ve noticed so far, there might be others missing, but these three skins are definitely not in the list anymore (I can’t see them, even as locked).

The wording in the blog post is a little confusing, and the sub is full of questions, so to clarify:

Anyone subscribed to Game Pass for Console, Game Pass for PC, or Game Pass Ultimate has access to EVERY shop skin from the past three seasons - excluding charity, Mythic, promotional, and collab skins + some exceptions. That’s where the cheeky asterisk comes in

The catch is that you don’t get to keep these skins. You lose access to them if you unsubscribe from Game Pass or when the season rotates out.

For example, we currently have access to Season 9, 10, and 11 shop skins. In Season 13, the Season 9 skins will be removed, and we will have access to Seasons 10, 11, and 12

You do get to keep the following skins permanently, even when you unsubscribe, if you sub to/purchase Game Pass at least once before November 11th 2024:

  • Cardboard Reinhardt
  • Turtleship [D . Va]
  • Cyberdragon Hanzo
  • Street Runner Genji
  • Bee Mercy
  • Cleric Lifeweaver
  • 30 Mythic Prisms

Q: Do you need an Xbox?
A: No, PC via Battlenet also works. The rented skins don’t work on other platforms, including Steam

Q: Do you need to claim this?
A: The rewards automatically claim when you link your Microsoft and [Battle.net] accounts. There are no codes involved, meaning you can’t sell or share this

Q: Does this work with gamesharing?
A: No :frowning:

Q: Does Xbox Game Pass Core work?
A: No, only the other tiers

Q: Are the Mythic Prisms monthly?
A: No, it’s a one-time bonus

Q: What happens to my skins if I cancel Game pass?
A: Any skins not listed above will be removed when your subscription runs out. Unless you’ve already bought them, of course

Q: Do returning skins sold in the previous three seasons count?
A: The skin has to be released in the last three seasons to become available

Q: Do Battle Pass skins count?
A: No

Q: Do Mythic skins count?
A: No

Q: Can you get the seasonal skins on PS4, PS5, or Switch? A: The seasonal skins do not work on any platform that isn’t Xbox or Battlenet launcher for PC. This is intended and not a bug

Q: Why did my skins get unequipped?
A: There’s a bug that unequips and unfavourites them when you close the game

Same, extremely disappointed to see these skins gone. There’s a few more I think, one being the Reinhardt - Rosahardt skin too. I hope they do something about this!

Edit: the Sakura Kiriko skin is also missing.

Did you all have the Game Pass? I know that a good chunk of those are ones that you would have had access to with Game Pass, but I believe they change each season.

I’ve been looking through all these missing skin posts trying to find out a solution or answer too.

Yes, those skins are also gone from my inventory, from what I’m getting though is that if you got them from the Xbox game pass, they’re meant to be gone, as it’s some sort of “rental” system. Since the new season came out, the S9 skins disappear, and the S12 skins now count as one of “the last 3 seasons” instead.

I’m pretty sure none of this was written anywhere, which is creating confusion for us because we were never told that would happen. It’s also a very useless feature as well. Why create a feature that gives you skins, only for them to be taken away at the start of a new season? Why not just leave them unlocked? Another corporate greed trap, it seems.

I’m not sure if the people who have bought these skins during the past seasons have had them taken away as well. If so, please let me know. I’m also aware of people stating that their OW grey league skins are gone, which might be a separate issue, but it’s still noteworthy.

I’m very upset about this.

EDIT: This has also resulted in a loss of money for most people too, which is ridiculous. We paid for these skins, they aren’t cheap. Game pass or not.

I’m having the same problem as well! I like to change my skins to match up to the seasons and I own the Dark Faun skin for Lucio. I had it equipped for Halloween this month, and when I joined a match today, I noticed Lucio was back in his OW2 default skin. And when I tried to re-equip the skin during the match, it wasn’t showing up on the list. So after the match I went to look for it in the actual Hero Selection and it still wasn’t showing, even after I filtered the settings to show ALL SKINS both owned/unowned in ALL CATEGORIES and it was just gone. I was so upset because I had just bought the skin for Lucio about a month prior when it was available so I could have it for October. So frustrating and annoying.

Yes I’m having the same problem and I also have the battle pass and Xbox game pass, and I bought the dark faun skin for Lucio during the last battle pass season so I could have a Halloween skin for him for this month but it’s missing. Also the Lucio skin wasn’t included in the 6 game pass gifts, and the game pass skins are permanent as long as they’re redeemed within the time frame they gave us (I still have all mine as well). One match it was equipped, next match, poof! Missing…

So you paid for the skin and it’s just gone? Wow. What is Blizzard doing???

Yeah, I thought that too until I saw that I still have all 6 of the skins that they gave us for the Xbox game pass. And the Lucio skin and the others that people are missing were never included in those six that were gifted to the game pass users. Also the game pass skins that we get are permanent additions as long as they’re redeemed with the time frame provided.

Game pass skins including from the past 3 seasons, correct? If so, they’re gone. Though, if this is true, it gives me a little hope in thinking this is just a bug. Because damn, losing those skins would suck.

Correct, you can get any skins available from the past 3 seasons with the Xbox game pass and they’re yours permanently. The deadline for this is Nov. 11th. So last season (S12) we were able to access any skins as far back as season 9, and now that we’re in season 13, game pass users can only access skins as far back as season 10. But whatever skins you bought during those times are yours permanently. It’s basically a promotional sale and They don’t take them back because you buy them with your coins. So it’s most likely a bug issue.

Ah, I see. I wasn’t present for those times as I was busy with work and school, so I didn’t buy them. It still sucks that they get taken away, though. I don’t think that was stated anywhere either. Correct me if I’m wrong, though.

As a heads up, the purple dark fauna lucio skin you are referring to was absolutely a part of the game pass unlocks - not the 6 you got forever, but a part of the “access to the last 3 seasons skins”. I had it unlocked and absolutely never would have bought it, so it was definitely unlocked due to the gamepass. But if you paid for it in the Overwatch shop and it is missing, I would maybe submit a ticket to Blizzard about that.

Hey did you ever get your skins back i am still missing skins. After the new season update it seems like a lot of my league skins are gone.
