The current map pool is very underwhelming. Half of the old maps are missing from Overwatch 2 and it’s causing burnout for me. The current map pool for quick and competitive play consists of only 18 maps.
I know they permanently deleted assault (Anubis, Volskaya, Paris, Hanamura, and Horizon), but I still haven’t played Numbani, Rialto, Havana, or Blizzard World. That’s nine maps from Overwatch 1 that are missing. The fact that there are 18 maps in the current pool and that 9 are missing means that we are only getting 66% of the maps.
I really hope they bring back assault or at least rework the old maps to fit in the hybrid game mode.
The new push maps are getting extremely repetitive. It seems every match I join I’m on one of the three new Push maps. I don’t like this game mode as much as the other ones, and all of the maps feel very similar to each other.
I will say, I really enjoy the new hybrid and escort maps, specifically Paraiso and Circuit Royale. Midtown is pretty mid, though.
