Hello, I discuss this to assure that I will change my internet connection, but I want overwatch 2 teams to fix this problem as well because it is 100% not my connection problem. Please read the message clearly.
I received a one-season suspension from Competitive Mode.
I lost connection during several matches, but it wasn’t because of my internet or computer. I’m very sure about this.
Let me explain clearly.
At my home, we have two internet networks:
1. Upstairs internet (the one I use with a LAN cable)
2. Downstairs internet (used by my brother, mostly on Wi-Fi)
My PC is connected via LAN to the upstairs internet, and that’s the one that sometimes disconnects from Overwatch 2. I usually play the game with my brother. He used to have the same issue when he was connected to the same network. But now he mostly uses the downstairs internet, and he no longer gets disconnected.
This shows that the issue is likely related to the upstairs network. But i want to stand up for myself as well because the internet isn’t a problem!
I play many other online games like Apex and Valorant, which require stable connections over long periods. I’ve never had any disconnection problems in those games. My upstairs internet never have a problem while playing other games or do other things.
Now this is the most important part to proof my point. While playing Overwatch 2, I also often use Spotify or YouTube in the background on the same PC and voice chatting with my bro on discord. When I get disconnected from Overwatch 2, Spotify, YouTube and discord still run smoothly, and everyone else in my house stays connected — including my parents.
Moreover, during my matches, I often see other players disconnect and rejoin quickly. I asked some of them, and they said they lost connection too. So, I believe this is a common issue with Overwatch 2, not just something happening on my end.
Also, to avoid this in the future, I’ve decided to change my connection setup to use the downstairs Wi-Fi like my brother — just to be safe and prevent more disconnections.
However, I also want overwatch 2 teams to working on the lost connection issue as well since it’s really annoying and it’s not the internet or computer problem for sure. It’s happens only in overwatch 2.
I really care about fair play and just want to enjoy Competitive Mode like everyone else.
