I have weird issue with Overwatch 2, since today’s patch. I can’t run the game in fullscreen anymore. It instantly minimizes itself. With S14 I lost readings of my GPU temps and now this.
Can someone help? I tried with Window Focus Logger and other methods which I found, but it doesn’t work.
It’s doing the same thing. Sadly I’m playing on very old laptop with GT755M and I’m going exclusively in Fullscreen, beacause I’m setting my resolution to 1280x720 and than I force FSR 1.0 + 50% Render scale, so I have good FPS. If I’m playing in Fullscreen windowed I’m locked to 1080p and my FPS is at 44-45 in busy areas.
I’m on Win 10 22H3. I played today the game and I had no issue, but since the new update it’s not working. I’ve noticed they have changes to DLSS and we have new upscaling method with Intel’s XeSS. My guess is, that they bricked something with the behaviour of the game on some configurations. Like I said, since the start of S14 I lost the GPU TEMP readings. It shows 0. Before that I had no issues.
some problem here with GF gtx 2070… thanks blizzard. cant play the game anymore
temporary fix for me: start in window mode. than change to borderless window (wich appears as fullscreen for me).
Glad I’m not the only one. For me borderless is not a solution as I said, because than I’m forced to play on my native res which is 1080p. Too much for my old GT 755M.
You could use Borderless Windowed, Render Scale to “Custom”, and then select a scale smaller than 100%. Selecting a smaller scale should be similar to selecting a non-native resolution.
Yes, but it’s too much. Thats why I’m using fullscreen and setting it to 1280x720 and from there 50% render scale. It looks really bad, but I have than stable 60 fps.
Same issue here. Game always force minimizes at lower resolutions while on exclusive fullscreen, since the mid-season patch. Clicking the minimized OW tab will bring up fullscreen again, and then minimize again immediately a second later.
I have the same problem. And it has started now with the new update. I can only make it fullscreen if I leave the monitor at 60hz, if I put it at 75hz (native capacity) it simply behaves the same way as yours, it keeps coming out of the tab, it doesn’t keep fullscreen.
I found a workaround to stop minimizing due to lower resolutions until they fix this. On Windows, set your display resolution in System > Display settings to match the resolution you want in OW. Then change it to the resolution you want in-game and set it to exclusive fullscreen, and apply changes.
Edit: Just learned that you can disable fullscreen optimizations to fix this too. Change it in Overwatch.exe’s properties.
I just logged in and am having this issue as well. In borderless windows my frame rate has always been unplayable, but my Fullscreen has always been great. Now I can’t play at all. This sucks.
If problem appears after patch, you can try resetting your older graphic settings to solve the problem.
Go to [Document] Folder and find overwatch folder in it. and replace its name to “overwatch old” to regenerate settings.
Then play overwatch again.
(Sorry for bad grammar. EN is not my first language)
After the latest patch I am unable to play. I am running a high end PC with a RTX 4080 and I now have NO OPTION to run fullscreen. I also have NO DLSS anymore. The graphics are now terrible and extremely jittery - so much so it’s totally unplayable. Things also aren’t loading when I start a game e.g. my character has no gun / no arms etc. when I load into a map. Everything is massively laggy. The whole game is now BROKEN and UNPLAYABLE. It was perfect until the latest patch!!! I am in the UK. How useless are Blizzard that this is what they’ve released???
