Honestly, I looked forward that I can play with my friend in rank and having aim assist fighting PC players in Overwatch 2 but no, they basically made no changes in rank or the sensitivity system. I really appreciate that they polish the game and made it look so much better. But it is 2022 how come console and PC players cannot play together in Rank? In Apex all players can play together and every input device got its own advantages. I cannot understand why console players lose their aim assist when they are playing in the PC pool. It is unarguable that they are putting controller players at a disadvantage since PC has a much higher fps and better movement. It gives me a feeling that the game does not care about console players, and this is absolutely ruining my playing experience. Issues like the sensitivity would become too fast when the game suddenly pulls the aim assist away would occur, which means I have to adapt to a new sensitivity every time when I am playing with my friends using PC. This is not about skill level but is an actual issue. This game is not designed for cross-play. This is ridiculous since Overwatch 2 is a mainstream FPS game in 2022 but it still works like a game in 2016. If they have to pull aim assist away, at least make the sensivity system better so that I can have more precise control of my aim. Now I cannot even adjust my deadzone while every other popular FPS games allow you to do that. That is just unacceptable.
Aim assist is an aimbot. There should be no need to use it in games at all, and while you say it is harder to aim with a controller, I dont think this is the case at all, especially in a game that has custom sensitivity.
Even some FPS games there are high level console players that are equal or better than PC players.
I play on console and main zarya so aim assist is non existent with zarya anyway, would not matter if I used a mouse or controller.
You do not want to play with PC folk in ranked if you’re on console, just like you don’t want to play with console players if you’re on PC. It’s a bad idea and Microsoft is well aware of just how bad an idea it is. They literally did the research.
I don’t think it’s a mistake at all. Even with aim assist, the average level of play for console is FAR below the average PC. It’s not just aim, it’s movement too. Playing in QP is whatever, but it’s unreasonable to expect such wild variations in technical abilities to be able to be mushed together in comp without greatly diminishing one side’s play experience.
I also don’t want to read the endless threads from console players losing their minds when Keyboard/mouse players dunk on them every game. The sheer amount of console complaints about people who used Xims or whatever on console was already off the charts.
Are you sure?
Because Halo Infinite 100% has cross play…
That, and they don’t own Activision
dude, you are liying about play on console or u never see a true sensitivity difference with pc player xd
i play on console and maxed all sensitivity and feel SO SLOW even with other shooters titles from console, if u see a guy pllayed on pc with mouse he move the camera like x20 more speed.
IN equal conditions u never win from console vs mouse in a shooter for the speed and precision to shoot.
They don’t own them YET. They’re currently innthe process of acquiring them however.
Only time will tell what effect the acquisition will have but Microsoft is going to be involved in the decisions of ActiBlizz.
Aim assist is most definitely not an aimbot.
It is a radius that slows down your crosshairs. Literally half the time I play with it, it will think I am aiming at another player and screw my aim up, so I ended up turning it off completely lol.
Also Zarya has aim assist, it works the same way for every hero. Unless you turned it off, which makes your statement about Zarya irrelevant.
Anyway it wouldn’t be fair. There’s a reason why console cheaters dominate using xims (keyboards and mouse). Provides way to much of an advantage over joystick, especially with weird movement that is instantaneous in every direction, which makes aim even harder.
It is not a mistake. I play on switch and pc and my switch sr is more than significantly lower for a reason. These two platforms should never share competitive SR.
What does Microsoft have to do with anything? They do not own ATVI, that acquisition wont happen until mid to late 2023 and that’s assuming nothing blocks it.
They’re relevant because they did the largest study yet in terms of the differences between PC and Console players relative skill and the difference between controller and kb+m. It is a very well known and well-cited study.
It’s also relevant because for the majority of OW2’s life, they will be owners of Blizzard.
pc > console in fps. less limiting factors
If mouse+kb is so much better, then why do the pros in Apex tournaments use controllers instead of mouse+kb?
Oh yeah, aim assist.
Why would console players want to be in the same pool with pc players??? the skill levels are just leagues apart
Because the platforms are too different. Rank on Console is also somewhere between 250-500 MMR less than PC equivalent. One problem that plagues QP is that the Matchmaker doesn’t appear to take this disparity into effect, and instead sticks consolers in teams above their skill level. This is creates problems between teams of Console/PC vs. PC immediately.
and? when i said not exist good players?, now put a good player of pc with sniper killing this guy with nonscopes or other things that u cant do on console…
Obviusly not alll the players are the same, others have more skill, but in equal conditions of both players, pc wins , always for the mouse.
XIM is using mouse and keyboard + aim assist. It’s legitimately undetectable cheating.
XIM is a device that allows you to translate M+KB to console input. It’s like having an aimbot.
Considering how it goes in Apex where even some pros switched to controllers because it aims itself is…
Its very true.
Theres tons of video showing the how and why mnk is easier the controller. Look them up.
