Overwatch 2 is a thing?

My server told me there were some sources of news that just announced Overwatch 2. If this is a thing, I guess I’m speechless.

Highly doubt that, if anything it’s probably a mobile game.

As far as I’ve seen, just one source, and it’s Kotaku of all things, which essentially means it’s a rumor.

So… we’ll see, I guess.

I said this in the other thread but calling it Overwatch 2 is likely misleading. More accurate would be to call it the single player game that people have been clamoring for for years which would add both lore and new PvE modes to the game (as well as probably a few new heroes all at once to celebrate the launch)

…I’ll take it.

There is only 1 article, it’s Kotaku, it was a *leak". Take it with a grain of salt and wait for real information come November

I wonder if it is true. And I wonder if I want it to be true.

I’m pretty torn to be honest.

A rule I usually go by: Never trust one source.

Kotaku is click bait. Wait for more articles to mention this. If more articles come out speaking more about this, then either it’s spreading more lies for clicks, or its real. I ussally wait for Blizz to announce something. They have their own hype train.

Personally, OW2 is not a thing. A spin off of OW or possibly a story mode, is likely, but I’m not holding my breath.

I could see a story mode or something. I can’t imagine they’d spend money on a new multiplayer game while they are still running eSports for this one.

That’s all it is or will be, and its just using the OW Lore… nothing more.

You’d have to be truly naive about how things to work to expect an "Overwatch 2"in the next five years… this isn’t some single-player shooter game…

If OW2 is a thing, it explains why the original OW feels as if in maintenance mode.

How? Blizzard is still making content. They have a few heroes in development. And probably some other things.

The article is written by Jason Schreier who’s known to have reliable sources, it honestly sounds pretty legit to me, they’ve learned from their mistakes on OW, can’t really fix it so they put out OW 2 to bring old and new players alike.

If they go mobile.

Make it VR.
Make replica guns of all the heroes we can buy in toy stores. (Nerf can handle this and have been)
Attach phones onto toy replica guns to view targets or wear VR goggles.

OR

Lazer tag, with a decent UI for heroes selected.
Obviously OW in both these forms will be modified heavily.

It’s not just Kotaku, it’s Jason Shrierer reporting this. This dude gets his facts from insider sources; it’s probably legit. He would of never brought it up if it was just rumored or believed it would be leaked anyways since he doesnt like spoiling surprises either… Basically it’s being called Overwatch 2 internally, but it may not stick. It’s mostly PvE based (maybe even all of it)

Based on what i read, it is mainly a PvE game set in the Overwatch universe, and it will probably get another name instead of “Overwatch 2”, and some people said it will be something similar to Left 4 Dead 2.

That’s what I would think, if they were going to add anything it would be a big DLC for Overwatch that consists of a story mode/pve mode with unique earnable skins, sprays, voicelines and so forth, like they have for Hearthstone.

Just dont hype yourslef you all on that idea…

Cosmetics better transfer over.
