I just wanted to write this reply hoping for a change on overwatch´s 2 game interface. Since overwatch 2 released, the interface changed, and it lost what made overwatch unique and fancy.
Heres and example of how the game used to look in overwatch 1:
And heres an exmple on how the game looks now:
You can clearly seen that in overwatch 1, the interface was more catchy, fancy and with some style, as almost everything was on cursive with a fancy style. The charging ultimate circle looks more attractive, same as the health bar and the elimination animation.
And now the interface is just boring, pale and too simple. Wich any game can have right now. I get they they wanted to use simplicity in overwatch 2 but it has lost the overwatch essence.
Hope they redo the interface to make it look fancy like the old one or just bring the old one back.
Maybe they could implement some type of voting system in case people like community suggestions they can take action on them.

I’d really love to see more options for customizing the interface.
I agree, but also you can tell the difference with the old and new one with the text font. Back then it was way fancier and cooler as it was on cursive
Many aspects of OW2 was different for the sake of being different and not necessarily better. Portraits, Character Default Skin design, UI, Gameplay are all worse but they were desperate for a new coat of paint to sell to everyone it was a legit sequel.

I’ve always thought this. Sleek looking curves and interesting elements became simple boxes with icons on them. This is especially true in the hero gallery, it’s so bland now. Some things are improved sure, but that’s because they were added to the UI, not because of the OW2 changes.
also in-game interface is too simple in my opinion and it needs to be fancy, catchy and cartoony like it used to
True, this game’s UI is a big downgrade from OW1.
I also miss being able to see the randomized hero/map main-menu backgrounds, which in my opinion, are far more interesting than the custom art backgrounds they have now.
There’s this OW youtuber called Popcorp who’s been redesigning UI elements in OW that I think more people need to see (specifically the OW devs) because of how beneficial the design changes would be to the game.
exactly, i completely agree

To each their own. I think the art direction for the OW2 UI is considerably better and feels much more polished off. It’s pretty much the only thing I think improved from OW1->OW2. I do not find the OW1 UI to be “catchy” or “fancy”. I find it just looks weird. Unique perhaps, but IMO not good.
Now, UX on the other hand… there are some pretty big regressions IMO. The tab screen (e.g. scoreboard) is IMO a much worse user experience than seeing the player portraits and personal info, and I think the scoreboard just breed toxicity with people misinterpreting stats they dont understand. The main menu is also generally worse, and doing basic things like finding settings, or highlights/potgs is way harder. There’s a lot of clutter of event advertisements on the main screen. They removed a lot of stats from the profile page, and the new progression system feels pretty uninspired compared to the basic portrait borders on the past.
