First off, when i wanted to get overwatch on release, i tried installing the battle.net pc app but the installer kept getting stuck on 1% so i had to install it on a different pc and transfer over the files to mine.
I got overwatch 2 working, played for a bit and decided to change the voiceover language to jp. I got in game, didn’t like it and hen i tried to change back to english it just said update but when i started updating it it got stuck on initializing 0% (6/528).
I’ve tried almost everything. I changed account thinking that maybe that was the problem, nope. I completely reinstalled battle.net but that didn’t work either. I deleted ow2 but that hasn’t worked aswell. I decided to let it run in the background and it’s still stuck on 0%.
i got more help from the support and this worked
• Try rebooting with Selective Startup:
This can be used to close out background processes and non-Microsoft services that could be interfering with the connection or the game client.
Press Windows Key+R.
Type msconfig and press Enter.
Select Selective startup and uncheck Load startup items.
Select the Services tab.
Check Hide all Microsoft services.
Note: Skipping this step may prevent your computer from rebooting correctly.
I had the same problem (on Windows 10), the installer kept getting stuck on "Initializing 0% (528/528). I tried launching as admin and reinstalling Battle.net app to no avail. Only thing that worked for me was to go to the Download Manager after the installer stalled out, and then pause and restart all downloads (even though Overwatch was the only game I was installing). MAKE SURE YOU CLICK "Start all" [downloads] in the Download Manager, NOT just Start Download on whichever game you are trying to install/update.
The only thing that got the installer un-stuck for me was to click “Start all” in the Download Manager AFTER the installer got stuck. You can find the Download Manager icon next to the notification bell icon at the top of the Battle.net app window. The Download Manager icon is a classic download symbol with an arrow pointing downwards into a well.
NOTE: The Download Manager icon will only appear AFTER you have started the download.
My kid’s computer had this issue for over a year. We just found that the program “Web Companion” by Lavasoft was to blame. As soon as “DCI Service” (part of Web Companion) was disabled, battle.net kicked in.
i found the solution and fixed the prob
it works for me hopefully it works for u
to fix the prob u must go to scan and repair in the setting near the update and then start the proccess.
after it scan and repair then it should be able to download,
goodluck to all the players
