My CPU spikes to 85 C a lot when playing this game. Overwatch 1 is around 60-70 C at a round 30% CPU. Overwatch 2 uses up to 50% CPU and runs very hot. (i7-11700KF)
Any fix for that?
Sounds like you need a better cooler to me, if it’s at 85c at only 50% usage.
Like I thought Rust was supposed to be a CPU intense game. I run that fine at under 70 all day. It’s just weird that OW 1 was fine and OW2 spikes hard. It’s not a consistent 85, but it spikes there and is more so a consistent 70. - Also not to mention, it’s not only 50% usage, it’s more like 70% usage after discord, steam, battle.net, and sometimes if I’m watching a stream. 50% usage for OW2 alone though.
There is no fix. OW2 system requirements are higher.
It uses more CPU = more heat.
Get a better cooler though. That CPU should not get that toasty at 50%.
Yeah that’s not overwatch’s problem thats your PC’s problem; lack of cooling, improperly installed cooler, or too high voltage.

I’ll try limiting voltage again.
The easiest solution is to just cap your framerate lower than whatever you’re currently averaging.
I believe that chip is rated for over 100c so you’re pretty much fine imo. If you just want to lower temps just for the lulz then get look into new cooler/thermal paste/ undervolting/ turning on AC

I toned the voltage down a bit, and now it’s 55-70C. So that did seem to help a fair bit for this game.
