Last week in my first 4 days of playing Overwatch back in October 9, I can play the game smoothly (about 200 fps) with my friends, then one by one me and my friends each get the fps drop issue, despite having upgraded our PCs already. First, and understandably so it was my friend with an Athlon processor and a GT 730, but then surprisingly a day after him, my other friend with a Ryzen 5 2600G with a GTX 1660 super gets the fps drops, in his case his fps drops when his network latency increases, while on my case which happens after his I get fps drops down from like 170 fps to 20 in any situation (even in the menus!). I tried everything from lowering render scale, cleaning cpu cooler, scanning for viruses, reinstalling, lowering graphics settings, running battle.net in admin mode etc.
Here are my specs :
Ryzen 5 3600
GTX 1050 TI oc (not overclocked tho)
8gb Hyperx Fury 2666 Mhz
2 TB Barracuda HDD

Yes, please fix it. It’s not huge drop, but the inconsistent fps makes the game stuttering and unable to play competitively.

Also having the same problem. I get MASSIVE lag and latency spikes almost every match now, makes the game unplayable. Doesn’t matter what’s is or isn’t running in BG, doesn’t matter the graphics settings, doesn’t matter if it’s a teamfight or someone did a single ult with no one around.
Every thing you fix you break six other things and it’s tiresome. This game was clearly not ready to be released, and it shows.

So I think I found the reason in my case, but I don’t how to fix it.
I went to the Training Ground, pressed Ctrl-Shift-N to bring up the Network Graph and noticed:
- When I stood still and only used mouse the SIM was stable and no fps drop, but when I suddenly pressed my keyboard it caused SIM pike and fps drop a dozen.
- After that I continued to use the keyboard and it got stable for some time before the random SIM pike and fps drop.
So I think it must be the keyboard input problem, but I don’t know how to fix it. I tried every other USB ports and different keyboards but it didn’t help.
In my case I solved the prob by set “Custom Direct3D support” ON for Overwatch.exe in RivaTuner.
