I’ve never had this problem with any other game, all my online games such as Apex, Battlefield, GTA, Siege, For Honor, even the new Modern Warfare Beta never had this problem. I know it isn’t my router either, its specifically Overwatch as every time I enter, its also shutting down. So me and my buddies decided to play a different game and behold, it was running fine with no lag or crashes.
I am having the exact same problem. I can play any other game completely fine but when I load into a game of Overwatch, people are teleporting everywhere before I inevitably get booted to the title screen.
i had an issue like this in ow1, it did carry over to ow2, but mine was slightly diff… only in the menus i would lag, and i mean my entire internet, people go robotic in discord or cut out, etc, the issue for me was my modem and my isp, if you guys are in canada with bell, it may be your modem type. if not then idk honestly… its a weird one.
Having this issue too.
Not sure what causes it or why it happens.
I’ll be playing normally then people start to teleport everywhere. Eventually it crashes me to the loading screen. When I close overwatch, my internet is considered ‘down’ and I can’t connect to anything.
I have to wait a few minutes after closing Overwatch before my net reconnects. This problem only started today and reinstalling the game did NOT help
This has happened to me multiple times today, one crash occurring midgame and resulting in an undue suspension, and the other two back to back in queue hours later. Idk what to do about it. Idek what’s happening because my ping looks stable but my stream will suddenly crash with 26% dropped frames or something, the game boots me… Like it’s so annoying -_-
i doubt its my modem, im able to play overwatch 2 on my pc just fine until it crashes my internet if i play on my console. But i doubt its my console because i was able to play apex a few minutes after
I’m having the same problem where when I play Overwatch 2 for like 5 minutes, it just disconnects my WIFI connection and as soon as I get off of Overwatch 2, my WIFI connection reconnects. I hope there will actually be fixes to this damn problem.
This has been happening to me since monday. Its super annoying, i haven’t been able to play at all
It has only started to constantly do this in the latest update and the update before that.
I got kicked multiple times today and now i’m banned. I did leave games on my own nerit and trued to get rid of the strikes, but to no avail.
I had two consecutive games like this.
Game one i was mercy on kings row losing to a genji. Game two i was moira and got kicked. I had completed three or four games before that. Heck, i had my entire team leave on gibraltar. Wth?
I’ve been banned before (ow1) and stopped playing until now, but server iasues. My connection is also fine in other games.
This happens to me most of the times too. Sometimes I can play without any issues but it’s really depending on the day I feel like. Some other days it is completely unplayable. I experience people porting around, glitching under the map and glitching player models. Most of the time I get disconnect right after. However if I play with friends and try rejoining the game after restarting the game all of them get kicked out of the game because of me. So I feel like this is a lose-lose situation and I can not play OW2 anymore without unintentionally griefing games this way.
This is happening to me too. I tried changing the power settings on my PC in the hopes it would fix it, but it still persists. Has anyone managed to fix this issue? So far it happens once per session for me, and then I’m able to reconnect to Overwatch and play as normal for the rest of a session.
I am experiencing the exact same issue. On an Xbox Series X, with very high speed internet → this game completely crashes my internet (disconnects my laptop/VPN). Why isn’t this being addressed? it is clearly an overwatch2 issue.
I am experiencing this issue as well, thought I was the only one having the problem at first. Happens every other game for me.
my internet technician literally just left because I thought it was a problem with my modem/ internet connection, no idea this happened to other people too smh
Using my internet normally works fine, playing other games also works. But hop into an overwatch match, lock in a character and 10 seconds in everyones teleporting beyond reality my ping spikes to 2000 and my internet is disconnected. Cant rejoin game and im banned. Please fix blizzo
I am also currently experiencing this issue. I have my network monitor open on my PC so I can see my network speeds in real-time. The moment I join an OW2 match, for about the first 4 minutes of the match I will lose around 40% of my network speed and characters will start rubber banding uncontrollably and about 20% of the time I will get booted from the game entirely.
This happens regardless of whether any other application is running or if I’m streaming video content on a second monitor.
I have reset my router, updated all drivers, even updated to the latest version of Windows 11 and no improvement whatsoever. The game is unplayable.
I have the same issues.
I was baffled at first but it seems that, from what I was able to troubleshoot, this only happens in competitive on PlayStation 5 for now. It started yesterday on the 24th of October, 2022.
I was having a great match and the game just stopped working. Everybody just teleported and disappeared and I was disconnected. WAN couldn’t get DHCP IP from ISP, but when restarting the router, it was fine. Contacted ISP, they checked and confirmed all is good on their end.
I tried another game after that but configured my router with two connections. WAN and a Fallback connection to 5G. Although I did this, the second time and third time this happened (again only in Competitive and on PlayStation 5), I had an internet connection due to the fallback, but when selecting “Rejoin” I was logged out and couldn’t get back in.
I was suspended for 7+ hours this third time, and it’s not fair at all. Everything about Overwatch has always been so against you at all times.
It may be worth to note I am making use of Cross-Progression. I am Playing Competitive both on PC and PS5. I noticed that my PlayStation 5 Comp Stats are not updating.
I struggle to understand how playing Competitive on the PlayStation 5, with a configured wired connection on an ASUS Router RT-AX68U can cause it to freeze/crash. And even with a fallback connection, still can’t Rejoin because selecting Rejoin just logs me out and does not let me back in.
Is anyone else who is having this connection problem also playing on multiple platforms ? Does it happen on PC for you, or just Console?
…
This has been happening since the first overwatch, there was a post on these forums 2 years ago with no soloution. I have also made a post.
I got my ISP involved, they reset my line and gave me a new router. I have a wired connection, only happens in overwatch, been trying to fix it for months but nothing else I can try (that I know of), done all the following… Reinstalled: Bliazzard, Overwatch, Windows 10, Drivers. Troubleshot network, tried repairing the game, also tried IP Release, Renew, and Flush DNS
This problem is still happening to me after two weeks and it was only one day where it worked that I had to leave the game on for 7 hours to not risk having the problem happening to me. I had reverted back to Windows 10, reset all of my drivers, did what the Blizzard support recommended for me to do, and reset my PC about 4 times now. But the problem still persists, is there anyway where we can contact Blizzard and have them actually help fix this problem? (My network driver is Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201 160MHz)
