Since Season 14, I’ve been experiencing a recurring and potentially shader-related graphical bug in Overwatch 2. The issue specifically affects certain map textures related to foliage, snow, and lighting/shadows. Affected textures appear either black, purple, or display visual artifacts such as dot patterns (especially on snow surfaces) or stripes.
The bug appears to be “triggered” after loading into specific maps, and once triggered, it persists across subsequent matches, affecting multiple other maps (if not all). Currently, the only temporary fix for the issue is to reopen the game.
The following maps appear to initiate the problem, often showing the purple shader artifact when it first occurs:
- Throne of Anubis
- Hanaoka
- Training Range
Every other map that I play after those three seem to have the “black/gray artifact” somewhere on them.
I’m willing to provide screenshots or run test cases to assist in identifying and resolving this bug =)
