Personally with Overwatch 2 I’m slightly skeptical about the process of the competitive or like extra game modes I was wondering if anyone else knew any of these things but I was wondering,
Comp reset?
Can you get your level back by signing in again?
cross play? (if it’s even just the PVE mode)
any New character chances right off the bat?
and was the release delayed because of Covid? or is it still on for this year or is it next?
and some of the other questions I was having were about whether Overwatch could get closer to dying off completely before OW2 comes, Pine is gone from OWL and he honestly was a big figure in OWL along with Sinatraa/Super (Sinatraa is gone as well) I don’t see many signs of Super leaving but could any of these be a sign that Overwatch is just getting…well boring? the Game kind of overlooks certain changes because both sides are biased (low and high level players) in overwatch so it can be hard to make correct changes to appease both sides, also I’ve played both PC and Xbox but I’ve realized on Xbox I’m getting in repetitive games with the same people (I don’t play comp anymore, quit role queue 100% and I play Open Queue on a Dif account) and could that be a sign that there’s no new players or that other ones are leaving? (for games like valorant and such)
The pvp is going to be just as broken as it is now.
Outside of new maps and heroes nothing has been said about the pvp which is safe to assume nothing much will change on that front.
Yeah its honestly why i’m quite baffled people are expecting anything else. Some folks think ow2 will save the game from its current state and make it more balanced but if anything, 5+ new heroes release at once is gonna be utter chaos :V
Well the balance may be all over the place for about a week or 2. That will probably be the most existing time after the launch and after that everyone will be back to complaining about whoever hero ends up to be OP.
Yeah as i kept telling to people, the balance team is the same so if they dont like it now it’s not exactly going to change entirely. But honestly i’m still excited to see many new heroes, its the thing i’m looking most foward to in ow2.
I think everyone is starting @null. Well actually… scratch that. Cosmetics + player level probably will carry over.
Jeff confirmed there will be crossplay. OW1 players won’t have any OW2 cosmetics though.
It’s quite likely. Hard to guess how many since Blizzard doesn’t want Overwatch to have 70+ heroes like a moba, but I’d say at least one tank dps and 2 supports.
The whole world got ‘delayed’ by the pandemic. The devs didn’t have any planned release for the game (Jeff saying he genuinely didn’t know when OW2 would be ready) so the setbacks probably weren’t major in terms of release.
Development may have slowed, but probably not by much.
Yeah I never noticed that on this chart. Its exclusive new hero looks for Overwatch 2 buyers. But I just thought of this:
He says everyone of the 31 heroes plus more will be getting a new look to them. Does this mean Sojourn and Mauga will get a second skin/design as well?
Well they did clarify that the new looks would be for OW2 owners only, and while new heroes/maps will also be available to OW1 owners, maybe the new looks on newer heroes is partly to justify owning it.
I hope we also get another kind of origin edition or somthing with skins like Sojourn in her Overwatch Commander Uniform like Ana and Soldier
Like this: (I had to use timestamp video cos it won’t allow me to include picture links)
Perhaps not an origin edition but according to a german leak we might get a special edition with unique skins after a certain theme and such. But it seemed to be more faction specific like “talon” edition or something.
But im starting to think that maybe those “new looks” will be unlockables given for playing pve missions and such. Perhaps some of the more “origin” skins of OW veterans will be part of their regular skins lineup or as part of the archive events like ana or baptiste.
I don’t know where I read or heard it but Echo and new heroes aren’t getting secondary default skins because their designs are made with OW2 in mind… or something like that
But Jeff did say 31 plus more. Doesn’t have to be a classic redesign it could be an archives inspired skin in case the Archives event gets removed and becomes permanent on Overwatch 2. You can even see him say it for yourself by clicking the video I linked.
