Orissa shield spin

I’m a bit confused what this works against.
It says it destroys projectile.
Does that mean it would eat a lot of Barrage?
Ashe threw her dynamite and it still hit. Is that not classed as a projectile?
Just need to understand what it works against.

Also for Orissa ult should you fortify before using it? Struggle to get much value from Orissa new ult myself.

It should be the same as D.va.
Hitscan and projectiles.
She should be able to eat Dynamite (before it lands or detonates), but can’t eat certain non-lethal projectiles like Sombra’s Translocator.

The biggest difference is that Orisa can also block the same physical abilities that Genji’s deflect does (Hook, WhipShot, Rein Hammer, etc…). Notably, neither Genji nor Orisa can block Sigma’s Accretion or JQ’s Knife.

Her ult isn’t that great, so just try to catch 2 or 3 people at a time (any more will probably kill you).

  • Look for slow 200hp targets (155% charge will oneshot)
  • Ignore tanks and escape-artists (better to just shoot them imo).

For Fortify/JavelinSpin, use one to engage, and save the other to retreat. This depends on the situation, but here is my preference:

  • Spin to engage (to chase down targets safely)
  • Fortify to retreat (for instant health and option to immediately shoot low-health targets).

If escaping with Fortify, remember to look away and down from the enemy to make her head hitbox smaller. Might help you reach cover.

I’m no T500, but hopefully that helps.

Same as DM from Dva. So you it if you get under heavy fire or when you rush into the enemy.

No you get fortify automatically during the ult so if you use it before that its just wasted.

She probably threw it out of your spear spin range.

She ate my grav (had no idea it did that) so I think it mitigates everything except Sig rock and now JQ knife.

Javelin Spin can eat all damage sources D.Va’s Defense Matrix and Sigma’s Kinetic Grasp can eat, essentially.
