If you’re up for weird Orisa/Sigma thoughts.

What if Orisa and Sigma couldn’t shoot barriers?
[âś…] Reflecting Orisa fixes 2x Barrier?

its sad how orisa and hog usually do a similar amount of damage on average (sigma does more than hog)

unless experimental hog becomes a thing then hog will always be useless as a tank

Up to this day I still don’t know why minor changes like the cloud from 1-3-2 didn’t make it live despite many people wanting it

honestly it would be very interesting to know why, they are thinking about making hog a dps instead…please no :stuck_out_tongue: you already have the animations of hog being a good off tank but seem to be ignoring them

lets be honest he was horrible in 1-3-2 he just cant tank on his own but that would make him a good off tank, imo would improve the game a lot(i say this as both a hog and orisa main because if i am playing orisa and someone selects hog then usually its not a fun match for me)

I’d blame sigma
Orisa’s shield is paper rn

that is true, still better than hogs shield though :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, as a new player since the 18th of july 2020 I’ve been QP or Classic QP only atm (partly because of my friend who gifted me the game) I have little Knowledge about the game, but I do have The years of gaming on my side and I really do not get why every qp or classic qp player thinks she’s a bad tank. I am on classic QP usually the only tank in the team as Orisa but If I’m lucky enough to get in a team there that actually also has about 2 or 3 other players that work as a team then she’s a very hard to beat tank to be in front, the main problem I’m having with my Orisa in those QP Or QP Classic is that 90% of my Matches My “team” is more or less everywhere on the map and then I agree If you face the enemy that works as a team, then her shield is gone in a mere 1 or 2 sec after placement so then it feels very useless but then again In my opinion when looking at her skillset she has it is not Ment to be a wall of a shield Like Reinhardt’s Shield but You just need to move it further and further making it very easy with a “Teamplayer” team to become an near unstoppable Payload delivery Push. to bad that there aren’t to many Teamplayers to be found in the QP’s modes as far as I have seen over time I’ve spent playing this game. On defense games If you posistion her in a good place or the enemy simple needs to come via a gate to enter for capturing a point or delivering a payload, She excels at keeping them at bay for a long long time Just by using her skills correctly. I have been playing against other teams having Orisa and it is a shame how little the enemy Orisa’ s sometimes use their secondary fire its in my opinion one of her greatest assets to be using when you have team behind you. I really do not get all the hate against her being a tank
Defense Is simple Place shield when you see something approach lay down suppressive fire use secondary and pull enemy team together so that your teams DPS and Orisa can quickly finish them off rinse repeat sort of and depending on situation or map
Attack I stick in front of the team (again if i am lucky to have teamplayers) moving forward using secondary for same reason as defense and continually shoot forward my shield a few meters/ yards at the time. Why, Because she can affort to shoot that shield a dozen times with the short cd on it.

The main issue is when players expect her to be a reinhardt like tank which she is not in my opinion because her shield isn’t that large in Hp pool to be that kind of tank.
the second issue is in QP or Classic QP so far that I’ve Noticed is Your own team behaving as solo dps playing the battle royal playstyle instead of a teamplayer based playstyle. Short version for Orisa tank in My Opinion and current experience ingame is 1) win the game = reasonable easy when actually having a team and 2) play Orisa in a battle royal playstyle team it mostly ends up in a defeat
3) Use her skills when needed and not as a reinhardt tank, meaning If that shield goes down before I’m able to directly place a other use that defensive stance skill to cover the rest of shields CD and you’ll be fine.

Again this is just my own personal view on how I should play Orisa in QP modes
I Also know that I still need to learn alot and make mistakes during gameplay but I have only been playing Orisa for something near 20 hours total but given time and knowhow of Orisa I bet she can be very hard opponent.

Correct.

Fun fact: 600 Barrier life was also Brig’s starting Barrier life. On a smaller shield.

Players still had problems shooting it.

Well It all depends on the teamplay mindset of your own team which in my personal short time playing Overwatch is almost not to be found in QP atm
I do say almost, but most teams I end up with is at the start of the game doors open dps 1 runs left dps 2 runs right (if classic dps 3 runs idk where dps 4 is idle for first part of match ect.) so how Do you expect a tank to survive in a 1 v enemy team i wonder. result we get steamrolled by enemy I recieve whipser or team chat like dude you suck or Why you not supporting me ect? or damn this was to EZ in match chat… All contributing to the “Orisa is a bad tank” Label she has.
While onthe other side of the coin When I end up in a team that actually plays as a team, I have recieved compliments like damn you sure your a tank, look at that hero damage. I have had teammembers saying they never saw Orisa being that strong. and all I can say is give her a working team and 1 healer is more then enough to make a interesting play become possible

This caught be by surprise
They don’t?
I use it as soon as it’s off cooldown lol
Although if they’re planning a combo it’s understandable

Must say, I think most people flanks on qp, maybe that’s why your shield doesn’t break as much, because you just go into competitive where people breaks shields and…

Yeah that doesn’t last
You need a pocket sigma

I mean
It’s relatively small compared to orisa’s

Yes Indeed but like i said I’m new to this game with near 20hrs on Orisa, so i wasn’t immediatly thinking about going comp. but after these hrs that I’ve been playing with her I have grown quite tired of the lack of teamplay spirit in QP sessions so I’ve started thinking of maybe trying it out because I do want to learn to play Orisa for example and I’d love to have a team playing as a team… I think most comp players can understand this dillemma I have right now lol

Heck I’ve been playing this game since September 2016 and I sometimes don’t wanna go into comp, instead mess around on qp

Don’t get too frustrated though, GL

Also very understandable after that service record on comp. that you do not want to behave compitive some days
but My problem is wanting to learn but just not really able to since so many comp. players like to do just what you said on there resulting in my dillemma
having 90% of the time half teamplayers and half comps who want to chill a bit in QP
or get pit against a still teamplayer based comp team that comes to chill as a team vs my 50/50 team those are no fun at all since they usually end in being steamrolled completely haha

as orisa always use halt its such a powerful ability

Only it isn’t as useless
