Who has stronger/ more adaptable AI? Considering their ages?
Orisa is roughly 2 months old
Echo? Way more than 30, considering the omnic crisis was over 30 years ago.
So Orisa’s AI adapts faster than Echo’s?

Echo is not 30 years old number one.
Also Echo is leagues above Orisa, she had an army of scientists working on her over a little child working on Orisa.

Echo has developed sarcasm and sounds quite conceited. Orisa is a long way off that level of development.

Orisa.
Echo was made to help the world, but is a specialised killer. Orisa actually follows her purpose and actually learns and builds her personality around that. Justice, and protection.
If you wanna think in terms of practical AI, probably a tie. They’re both sentient to a degree so…

Hard to tell. Echos is older but can adapt to any personality or situation. Orisas is state of the art but shes still learning how to make use of it.
Echo is definitely more versatile, but she seems better suited to a combat role, maybe as a member of a strike team. Orisa outclasses her in the role she was designed for, namely stopping a city bus with one hand to help an old lady across the street. I guess it just depends on the situation.

Their AIs work differently. Echo’s Ai is about adaptability, she analizes what the situation needs and change herself, while Orisa’s AI is designed to improve her own capabilities based on the enviroment and her limitations. In many respects, Orisa’s AI is better as its designed to work around what Orisa is capable of, while Echo’s have this huge advantage of a body that can change willy-nilly, meaning Orisa’s AI have to work way harder to adapt compared to Echo’s “handle in a silver plate” AI.

Liao made Echo during the crisis, and the crisis is “Thirty years ago” said by Winston in the intro video of OW. And the war ended some 20 years ago in Orisa’s lore. Liao died during the crisis during a bombing, but Echo was complete by then.
She’s atleast 25 seeing how far back in the past Echo was made (I mean, Jack was still recruiting people for OW back then)
I’d say 30 because I think Liao had already begun on echo when the crisis started
It wasn’t said when Liao began working on Echo - the teaser from Echo’s release suggests Echo was still just an idea until after the crisis.
Orisa, because she has
- a purpose in the meta
- a purpose as a character
- came first
What the teaser says is that she began when she was recruited by Jack to make something versatile in combat

How did Orisa do it first? Orisa is only a month old, Echo is at least 15 years old.
Actually I would say the reverse of most. Orisa is about adaptability, growing like a child as she learns new things. Echo was per-programed and basically acts upon that program.
Not to mention Echo was built to show humans not to fear Omniacs but is a shape shifting assasin droids for the most part… so she’s failing pretty hard at her goal.
As for the age it’s hard to say. Echo was built 30+ years ago but seemingly spent a lot of that time in stasis. Also despite being known by Mcree she was basically a non entity in OW lore till she popped up. So I can’t imagine she was all that high profile in doing good.
Given her ability and closeness to Mcree I am pretty sure she would be part of black watch. Again failing at her job to make humans not fear Omniacs if she was part of a shady hit squad and unlikely to ever see the light of day.
That’s awesome man but until Blizzard makes a time machine and releases Echo 20 years ago, Orisa came out first. Orisa also looks cooler.
