Every hero has an ability or 2 in their kit that makes them annoying to play with however a hero like orisa is unfun to play against in general. It’s an annoying cycle of shield, javelin spin, javelin throw and repeat

She just has so much cc now. Stun, knockback, and push, with a snare + slow thanks to her ult. It’s annoying to face such constant and potent displacement in a tank duel.
I’d actually much rather her have a higher armor HP pool and higher cooldowns to require her to peel and have some resource management than her current spam state.
Armor + damage reduction + reduced ult charge for shooting her just doesn’t feel right to play against.
But it is weird that she’s basically the counter tank as a tank.
Meh. I think its fun to shoot the horse. Shes slow. Shes big. Whats else could you ask for?

Play sigma against her she has incredibly short range so you can stay far out of that range and poke her from behind cover or your shield, you can also stun her out of javelin spin and knock her back with rock.
With Dva or Winston you can basically ignore her and go for her backline. She cannot defend against zarya.
As for other roles, hanzo and soldier absolutely shred her, she can’t really do anything against pharah or echo, sombra can hack her out of ult and ana and zen absolutely ruin her day.
Honestly, I just ignore her and go for the free pickings behind her, best case scenario you get kills, worst case she loses healing for a while and maybe everyone else is able to pick her off, plus if you’re on high ground she ain’t doing shiznit to you.

I honestly liked OW1 Orisa a lot, she was my go-to tank, but now I don’t enjoy her much anymore.

Well, how Orisa was balanced at end of 6v6 would be too slow for 5v5, so they would’ve needed to rebalance her. She had a 10 sec barrier cooldown, which would be too long for her to reliably solo tank; she would need a 7 or 8 second barrier cooldown.
Old Orisa could definitely have worked in 5v5, they just didn’t bother to rebalance her, and instead went with the harder route of reworking her, causing a lot of players to lose a tank they enjoyed. And we have so many tanks that function as brawl tanks right now, we genuinely did not need a ranged tank option reworked into yet another brawl tank.
Ow1 Orisa would be rammatra without the nemesis form.
These Orisa “whine” threads will continue to appear until Blizzard actually decides to balance her rather than just leave her as Brig 1.0: Tank Edition.
She is balanced, she is nowhere near the strength of launch brig, you would have a point if it was still season 2, but after they reverted her falloff range buff, she is kinda average when it comes to tanks.
Please give me suggestions of how you would nerf her such that she isn’t useless.
More survivability than Brig, more CC than Brig, more damage than Brig, more range than Brig, more health than Brig.
The only thing that separates overglorified DPS tank #3 and launch Brig is self-healing and a shield.
Her range being nerfed doesn’t mean anything because her whole kit is designed around CC spamming targets into a corner, it only matters in matchups against Ram and Sigma.
If I were to give her current state one nerf, it would be make shields either block her ult again or reduce the damage through shields so it’s not a guaranteed insta-kill on characters who can’t survive their way or mobility their way out of it as long as they rally behind a shield. I’ll tolerate her spam CC design as long as she doesn’t counter something that was supposed to counter her. Increase the slow on it as compensation for all I care.
What I actually want is a rework, right now she is just overglorified DPS #3 and not a real tank. Take her back to her original anchor tank playstyle, god forbid we have one tank that’s designed specifically to hold their ground rather than yet another brawler or diver.
If Blizzard can’t stand to have one tank that’s unique to the rest in their playstyle and MUST have this idea that every tank needs to be fast paced, replace that ludicrous javelin spin with a shield charge that turns her into a battering ram for her team that actually protects her team. She actually tanks again, remains mobile, and doesn’t have a magic delete button that is also CC spam.
It’s almost like Orisa is a tank.
If you are comparing her to release brig then no she absolutely doesn’t have more cc than brig, or did you forget the stun that could go through barriers every 4 seconds.
This would be a good change but considering she can be hacked out of ult now I think without compensatory buffs it would dumpster her.
Once again it’s almost like brig is a support and Orisa is a tank.
If a low mobility character is in orisa’s ult range something has gone wrong in that players positioning and they deserve that death. I play ana and zen the only way she gets anywhere near me is if I get knocked out of position or I’m not paying attention.
I loved orisa’s old playstyle and I miss it but it was incredibly boring and wouldn’t really fit in the new hyper mobile, burst damage plagued ow2 movement is king in 5v5 and Orisa v1 would be garbage in ow2.
She tanks using her sheer bulk and her interrupt is how she protects her team, it is so unbelievably satisfying when you time the stun on a rein as he is about to shatter. Her javelin is a skill shot, maybe make it smaller, but it is integral to her kit.
She isn’t hog she doesn’t have a magic delete button her spear only does max 130 damage if damage boosted and hitting a wall, any other time it is actually detrimental as it can knock enemies out of her range.
Orisa is average probably c or d tier with many counters and drawbacks, she is a skill check hero and can be dispatched by reading the game and communicating.
That’s exactly what javelin spin is, it absorbs damage just like defence matrix or kinetic grasp, and gives her faster movement so you can engage and displace an enemy.
(Just FYI, doomfist can also cc you to death but his is every 4 seconds and is much easier to hit than javelin is, when it’s empowered it also hits multiple people whereas javelin will only ever hit one it also does comparable damage and knocks you back further, so if you complain that javelin is op then you should also complain that rocket punch is, no-one does because doom is a weak one trick pony, he only has mobility, whereas Orisa only has survivability)
