Orisa’s [Hot Rotate-o] Stadium power needs improvements

Has anyone made good use of this power?

It generates a lot of heat, but if you overheat while you’re using Javalin Spin it is forcefully cancelled to perform the “reload-cooling” animation.

So, the power description doesn’t tell you that and you only get to know how it works after you buy it.

I gave up on trying to make the overheat build with it cause IMO it disrupts Orisa’s gameplay flow. When you want to use Javalin Spin for the move speed or for the CC, it cancels the ability whenever you reach overheat, adding a super complicated planning / timing to use it to minimize downsides and make it work-out.

Ok, you get 35% CD reduction, still it doesn’t seem worth it for me.

Do more people agree? Is there anyway Devs could improve this power?

I have not played Stadium. I may never play Stadium. However, I deeply appreciate the name of this power.

Please continue with the thread.

Yeah, the name of the power sounds funny.

I avoided any of the powers that caused your abilities to exert more heat. Feels like you really need the heat for the gun, otherwise you’re not really going to do much damage overall and you kinda need to.

That’s just my opinion anyway, I don’t like to live dangerously.

I just found out that normally Orisa can spin while in cooling animation, but if you buy this power it blocks/deactivate the spin while cooling.

I wonder if that is because constantly generating heat while spinning conflicts with the meter that was supposed to go down.

Oh right. Yeah doesn’t seem like a good trade off to me, given how the cooling is like 3 seconds?

3 potential uses for it

  1. To intentionally overheat more often for the powers that generate a shield or catch nearby enemies on fire upon overheating
  2. In a javelin build to throw the mini javelin more often
  3. Late late game in a build where you aren’t relying on your gun much anyway

The first one is the most useful though by a decent bit

I’ve been using an overheat build and I’ve been feeling the same thing.

Although it can be good to overheat quickly, and get another shield out / more fire damage. I find I can often ignore this ability, in favor for weapon speed to overheat faster. If they made it so it continued to overheating I think it would be so much better. If I do get it, I rarely use it to negate damage, but rather get another shield out quicker, or set up for my ult.
