OQ Issues Are Less Impactful In 5v5

Not having a tank or support isn’t much of a problem in 5v5, as the gap between a 1-2-2 comp and a 5 dps comp is significantly smaller

Which means 5 dps are more impactful in their kill potential

Hm… x to doubt. Tanks are still more powerful than DPS as a whole for a similar job and come with extra features. DPS lack those extra features to make them more unique. S9 was the first time DPS had something holistically unique the other two roles did not have.

Back then, I lost many matches against a full dps team, while my team was the ‘‘perfect comp’’ (2-2-2). That was truly Overwatch, people played whatever they wanted, won games with wonky comps and had fun. Not this crap game with 1-2-2, roleQ and no fun…

Tanks were significantly weaker in 6v6. Hell, tank heavy metas were mainly to keep certain DPS out, tracer and widow, double sniper. 3 tank soldier was on the back of a super buffed ana and the purple stuff supercharging healing, and was still only mainly used on payload maps.

In reality this only really worked when people didn’t know what they were doing, and broke down really darn fast the moment your started getting into higher ranks. Or just generally learned how interactions between roles and characters really worked.

And any good ult combo between tanks and dps, will just clean up an entire lobby of dps without issues.

Like it was one thing when a raw genji blade or Cassidy ult would clean a lobby by it’s self, it was another when rien going to for style points on how many people he could charge into a wall that round. Because they know they can clean up any fight with a shatter anyway.

Tanks are powerful, but a tank can’t peel a support from 5 dps

2 tanks probably could, but not 1

A tank can’t peel 4 different squishies from 5 dps, he can frontline against 5 dps though

U seem to think oq is only gon have one tank at most.my point is why pick dps when u got a giga tank dat gives double the value?what u gon see is mega goats again

Goats is a comp problem, no one cares about playing tanks in qp

I would like atleast for comp for OQ to be the main mode with 1 per role minimum. Last 2 players to pick get to pick 1 ban each and pickable passives replacing role passives. The pickable passives would help mitigate issues with teams that are 3/1/1.

I feel like there’s some information missing here, but it’s still winnable just mirror goats or Hardcounter them off goats

Another benefit of oq for tanks is avoiding playing tank if you get counterpicked

Ya that does suck which is why I proposed my solution with 1 role minimums. It makes it hard to go goats also.

2 tanks is still better than 2 dps

Yes right now with tanks being over buffed. (actually since ow2s existence) Tanks would have to be brought back down in line with ow1 tanks power levels at very least.

even then its not enough, goats was a thing for a reason and that reason was not addressed by forcing ppl to go 2-2-2

Well 5v5 makes it hard to go goats when you have a 1 per role minimum. Actually impossible to go goats 3 tanks 1 support 1 dps how the hell do you heal those tanks with 1 support lol.

I agree with you, it’s just that people aren’t going to play that

Even less so in ow2 oq compared to ow1 oq, because a bigger player base means more dps

Oq currently is not popular and is more likely to be played by non dps mains more willing to flex tank or support
