Open queue > Role Queue

I have played her, I think she is fine when she has another tank with her. Just not good as solo tank, unless your team is just much better than the enemy and can get away with it.

I dont see how that can be, when their decision are for role queue. The only specific open queue changes were to nerf all tank health by a flat amount. Plus an entire role is bad to pick heroes from. Is it more like ow1, sure. Is it more balanced? Hell naw.

Open queue is just objectively better when you consider that you have so much more freedom and you can actually choose any of millions of different compositions whereas in row Q you only have a limited number of potential combinations of compositions so that’s probably the biggest reason that I would prefer to play in open but I would also say that role Q does have some nice things like you can get the bonus experience for your battle pass but I think that should be a little bit higher for example they should put it at 1000 for the impacted role but also at the same time it’s been improved a lot from how it was in the overwatch 1

And to be honest with you I have never had a team that didn’t have supports and I’ve never had those games with 5 DPS so I don’t know why you guys keep complaining about that because it never actually happens in reality you guys just probably made that up or selective memory because I can’t think of a single time I have had that composition so it’s not really realistic and to be honest making role queue was a big waste of time but at least they finally managed to get it right at long-last

sounds like a skill issue to me tbh, not saying the issue is yours

How is it a skill issue for 1 side to only need to win 2 fights in 7m? You mean its a game mode issue, which I would agree. And why it was removed.

oooooh, I get it, so you prefer the Push mode where both team beat each other up swapping progress eventually winning by a most progress due to running out of time?

Push gives both teams an equal chance of winning. It’s not like one side starts with an advantage simply by getting a certain side of the map.

and what part of 2CP doesn’t give equal chance of winning?

OQ is trash because of balance. Its just tank stacking galore.

With proper balance I’d be playing OQ 6v6.

One side needs to win 2 fights in 7m. The other needs to win like 8 fights.

yes, that’s Assault mode

and 2CP ranked was:

defense/attack → switching sides → attack/defense

the better team usually captured faster, broke through defenses faster and delayed faster on defense while also left the enemies with smaller timer if they did get 2CP’d

what’s not equal about that again?

If we are talking ranked, then yes, all modes are equal in terms of winning. Doesnt mean it was a mode that played well. But for qp, the mode ppl play most, 2cp was an absolute mess, and is even worse now in ow2. Thankfully, its only in arcade.

if it’s because only one side gets to defend and the other to attack, and pushing 2 captures meant victory for attack, then that’s just a bad design…

but for quickplay it works, since you generally don’t want to play for a long time

Yea, 2cp is bad design, and thankfully got removed. Imo defending in general is less fun in ow game modes, but none nearly as bad as 2cp. And I dont expect qp to play both sides, but when a map can be won in like 1m, its pretty silly.

what do you mean, defending is ok unless you’re getting stomped, which isn’t even the mode’s fault

on the 2nd point especially, the longer others hold when people die, the faster they respawn back into the fight since the second point is 5 steps away from spawn

We are going in circles. Again, defenders cannot lose 2 fights in a 7m game. That is the modes fault.

OPEN QUEUE in UNRANKED

ROLE QUEUE in COMPETITIVE

Unranked is a less demanding mode where the priority should be having fun and having the freedom to decide. I don’t understand why the same types of queue are repeated in both.

Why do people say Queen is good? Like, she’s fun, but I began to notice how weak she was. Her ult is the only good thing about her.

Flats’ kinda summed up my feelings on the matter honestly. Maybe I’ve stumbled across my first “specific to this community” opinion.

I agree. I think that Blizzard, in their purported effort to start shaking things up in our playing experience, has a major opportunity here. There’s a sizeable demand for 6v6, as well as that feeling of “Classic Overwatch”, and playing around with Open Queue might be the way to go about satisfying, at least in some small part, some of that demand. I think that if they made it into a 6v6 format and adjusted the tank health on an individual basis – as opposed to simply slashing all tank health by 150hp across the board and calling it a day – Open Queue could have a serious chance at a renaissance and bring a lot of currently disenfranchised players into the fold.

It’s so much better the queues are much longer and T500 starts in diamond.
