I start off every game with 2-2-2 format teams and then it devolves with the supports and tanks swapping to DPS characters. I’ve had numerous games where I had 4-5 DPS characters and, unsurprisingly, people will just leave voice chat and not respond if you ask them to switch.
No matter how much I hate 2-2-2 lock, I will always prefer it over the dumpster that is open queue.
Second of all, yeah, that is why people were crying for it in the first place. For every good balanced game, you had 5 games of 5 dps. There are just more DPS players than the other roles.
Or… tanks and healers are convinced that dps are not doing their job properly thinking they can do better. In reality the problem usually stands on tanks as they’re the ones opening opportunities and creating space for their team.
Role queue is a must have as open queue usually devolves down into contemplating every game whether you are going to solo tank or solo heal.
I am not so sure role lock, as it is now, was the solution. For every problem that it fixed, it created new problems to replace them. Not every hero fit within the 3 roles, no more flex spots, needing to balance around 2/2/2 with said heroes that dont fit that mold.
It would be less painful and a much better expierce for everyone if Jeff just made it 6-DPS- queue.
That way, I get 6 dps on my team, but the other team is also running 6 DPS, instead my team having 6-dps Every match and the opposing team always running Rein, Zarya,Ana, Brig,McCree, Ashe
Wow less than 24 hours and you’re moaning about a game mode you don’t have to play and don’t sound like you ever had much intention of playing, much less giving a chance.
Welcome to my reality. I lost half of my placements cause I was solo heal with tanks joining us only when we lost first point/round. Asking people for help with heal - hell, no. Nobody even reacts. But I have to say that there was 2 or three people in my second half placements, who actualy listened to me and went heal - and we won.
Nobody but GM and pros played GOATS every match. You would see something kind of like it in the ladder with a lot of tanks and brig, which amounts to the same thing kind of.
But with open queue, it is not GOATS, it is 4-5 dps and a sad tank or healer.
yep i love open queue just for the fact your not limited to what character you can pick if you want to swap. the enemy widowmaker giving everyone problems but your tanks dont want to switch to winston then you can do it. hammond causing everyone problems but your heals and your dps dont want to switch to sombra? no problem you’ll switch sombra
gives more flexibility, sure there will be questionable swaps and such but that usually happens in low elo. even though i am low elo and i see all those questionable swaps and such i rather have the opportunity to do so than be in a stagnate 2-2-2 match where no one does anything either
