Open queue is a much better experience

QP role queue actually sucks. It’s such a stomp every game

Was in OW1. Now tanks are not balanced, only the limit prevents the game from breaking. So OQ = 4 tanks

I tried OQ - it was unplayable. Just a tank fiesta. Straight back to RQ. Don’t even understand how anyone can play OQ in OW2

Some people genuinely enjoy the GOATSesque experience.

Ew no, open queue as a solo queue is terribad experience. 4 people insta lock dps like it’s 2017 no thx

As a day 1 player, this “4 dps” and “5 dps” instalock thing is something I’ve seen maybe a handful of times out of thousands of games. It’s just traded around like a true tale on these forums.

4 dps is funnest OW mode. 4 tanks is the problem

And yet I see it 90% of my games. Congrats on being a day 1 player tho, big flex

If you only want to play tank, OQ is probably pretty fun.

It’s not a “big flex” it’s giving my perspective. You most likely just notice it more and get tilted more when you see 4 people pick dps in comp, so then in your head it becomes “every game” when in reality it’s probably less than half.

No it’s the vast majority of games that player insta lock DPS, throw the first 2-3 team fights, and then it’s a tossup on whether they’ll make swaps.

For me open queue is not very fun. Tanks are basically DPS with more health. I see it every open queue game and it’s simply not fun to die to what is an inherently stronger opponent.

I just struggle with the matchmaking mainly, every time I get someone who won’t understand their roles, at the very least with open queue I can switch and make up for what they lack if I need too

What I find is that many support and tank players play like DPS. I expect no healing and no tanking from open queue.

OQ was the default. But OWL and comp became a major thing and people wanted “order”. (Th able goats?) So they gave it to them.
Which resulted in many balance changes to please the OWL needs to slow things down, change combat, reduce kills from one hero.

While causal players suffer. Sure they made OQ again but hide it in arcade. I’m happy now it’s out in front next to Both Open and Role, everyone has a preference and play style.
Me, I want to play the hero’s I want not forced (I stay out of comp)

I don’t play comp but I think QP is almost as hardcore as serious comp gaming…as a solo player. ^^" OW1 was tough but somehow OW2 is even tougher in quick play. I don’t know what the matchmaker actually does but I have the feeling I’m always matched with fresh Overwatch 2 players that never played Overwatch 1. I’m actually not THAT bad to be matched with newbies…so I thought. How can anyone with only 10hrs be matched together and against players with over 1K hrs ion OW1? Since my OW1 stats are still in OW2, I expected that my old (hidden) MMR is still intact. But it does not feel like that in OW2.
Does OW2 just mix fresh players with OW1 veterans on quick play, ignoring MMR etc. completely?
