Open Queue Grouping SR Limit Bug

Since the end of last season, I noticed this bug appearing with two friends so far, where even though we were both within the 1000SR grouping limit, the system wouldn’t let us group together for Open Queue ONLY.

The usernames of the friends I’ve personally experienced this bug with are provided below for the benefit of devs checking up on this issue.

My friend Syncs#11534 did not have a official rank for Open Queue last season, but he did have an SR record for doing Open Queue previously. Both that old SR AND his current Role Queue SR were within 1000 of mine, for both modes respectively. The system would only let us queue for Role Queue.

This season has started and another friend InsertName#11687 has never played Open Queue, ever. So he doesn’t have a SR record for Open Queue at all. But his Role Queue SR is also within 1000 of mine, for both Role Queue AND Open Queue. Again, the system would only let us group to queue for Role Queue, but not Open Queue.

Due to this happening on not one, but two different people and two different seasons, I’m fairly sure this is an actual bug. I’ve searched and seen multiple reports about this issue in the past, but all from months ago. So I’m making a new thread. Please, fix this!

Hmm… I had a suspicion. Does this mean that the bug will go away after everyone involved completes placements for that season?

yes, all group members need placements to be done. Otherwise openQ takes 2-2-2 SR into consideration instead.

You didn’t read my entire post though. These were duo groups in which even the role queue SR were solidly in range of each other. I had similar SR in both role queue and open queue, so did they. No matter which SR you were comparing to which, we were definitely within the limit. I’ll try and test this out again with the same people this season after their placements are done to see if the game will let us group, but regardless, this is a bug that needs to be fixed for sure
