Open Queue Competitive - first experience

First placement game, of course enemy team playing goats, disgusted by it I went bastion. Enemy team melted down several times and they barely made it to end but didnt cap last point. When I mentioned how I hate goats, they started crying about bastion. average toxicity in chat, trashtalking at the end, EZ, shaming other team… usual stuff. Oh and our 4 stack wasnt in voice chat so zero communication in voice. Just great first experience.

Exactly same garbage as it used to be

So when you complained about their play style, they complained about yours? Does this surprise you?

That’s overwatch for ya!

I love open queue, just doesnt feel like real comp so its hard to play.

They’re not even hosting me on the right server. Like wut? Is the game so ded they have only 3-4 matches ongoing at once? Fix the phony hosting and I’ll start to have fun.

I thought open queue might lower dps queue times in role q comp as dps players will go there. And first two games goats lol. Its just funny how people were crying how they are limited with hero combinations in role q and now they play goats so often there.

Jeff said there are more people playing mystery heroes on US servers so they probably don’t have a lot of games hosted.

A lot of people tryhard mostly because of arcade rewards. Most games have been goats or quad shield (jeah, rein, sig, orisa, winston - as if double or tripple shield wasnt enough)

I had a way different experience, on the third day of open queue, when it first was introduced. So I expect this to also change the next days.

Well I hope so because I dont see a point to play that game mode if people run goats there so frequently. If anything, i was hoping to play dps role without waiting. And its kind of not fun against goats.

Just play Sombra goats if you like Sombra. Can even beat pretty much every goats variant.

Once people realize that open que is here to stay this time around within a couple weeks it will normalize (for what it is at least).

Right now goats is the niche that you can’t play in many other places, especially comp so people are enjoying it while they can. MY advice is to wait a week before going back to open que if you still see goats consistantly a few days the road.

The open queue first season’s top 500 was full of tanks and supports. That was already pretty weird.
Even my bronze games are full of tank heavy comp and/or support heavy comp.

The same garbage that’s actually worse now that the balancing is focused on role queue.

I won more times with 4dps than an actual 2-2-2 comp.

Well its not exactly about winning. I like role q because it has role rules and i will get ± proper comp and dont have to fight with people over roles. Only down side is terrible dps queue. So i was hoping to enjoy dps in open queue, even when there will be 4-6 dps heroes.

But i didnt expect to see comps without dps heroes at all, pretty much nobody like to play goat comp, just like people didnt like to play barrier meta comp. But it was simply played because its op comp and better chance to win with it.

I just dont get, did people wanted to have open queue back to play goats?

I didnt see much goats when I played. 3 tanks, 2 healers and one dps was the closest

I am seriously thinking about not play well there to not end up higher as i am pretty sure you will get goats more higher :grinning:

I have no clue where I end up, my first two games felt hard and fast, probably high plat/diamond elo. One player i checked was
dia dps in our match and masters on support.

Open queue is nothing but fast salvage for salty dps mains who have severe adhd and can’t stand a little bit of waiting. That, and premades running goats for ez wins.

It’s trash, who would’ve guessed? This was supposed to make OW great again or what not, right? Haha. Saw it coming ages ago. Player freedom leads to only bad things.
