Last night i was doing some open queue, our team went all supports. Brig, Ana, Lucio, Zen, LW
The other team had 2 tanks,2dps,1 support. Hog, JQ, Ashe, Soilder, Bap.
We lost hard, like really hard, only pushed payload around 25% to the first point on Junkertown.
I thought supports where OP, that they could 1v1 a tank with ease, win every duel agaist a DPS, out heal all damage.
Why did we lose?

wait how did you guys lose on the most overpowered broken role in the game? Aren’t supports tanks, dps, and healers all in one? Unkillable? EZ EZ to use? a team of 5 supports should dominate. /s
it’s not… damage and healing are OP right now. So we just hope next season they neuter it hardcore to where the teamfights last for a whole star wars movie.
I’ve seen a few 5-stacks do this in OQ over the last year and it never ends well for them. It’s funny and good for a laugh because they can definitely compete for a minute, but unless they’re like top500s versus golds and plats, unlikely they’ll actually win.
Its all about synergy - for example supports are great when they’re with heroes with a lot of health and mitigation. 5 supports dont have that synergy.
TBH, this is a great example of why role queue exists.
I’m not even of the “supports are broken” crowd but I have to say your bait is extremely weak, you purposefully leave out the fact that when people say supports are strong they mean in role queue, obviously in open queue it’s not gonna work.
I’ve got no dog or pony in this fight. But when was the last time the devs balance around Open?

I had a DM game where a damn good Ana player dominated winning first place.
Guess that shows she is OP and not a bunch of other independent factors in why random people of varying skill levels lost to a Support in an arcade mode.
I feel 5v5 gives every role a problematic OP issue that makes Ow 2 worse than 6v6.
DPS have some heroes that have too high TTK.
Tanks have some heroes that mitigate way too much DMG compared to others.
Support have some heroes that ridiculous amount of sustain.
6v6 was a balance nightmare. But compared to 5v5 the roles are a constant hot mess no matter how much the devs attempt to change.
To say it’s a Support problem let’s me know as a player you don’t understand the power gap difference between Reaper vs Sojourn or old school Mauga vs Winston.

Our comp was just worse then theirs. Thats why we lost.
This post was a sarcastic post because some people genunily say stuff like “supports can 1v1 any tank” or “X Support ability is just a I win button” or “Supports can out heal anything”
