Whenever I play with my friends we go open mic. However when I play solo, open mic is a real buzzkill, so I always need to switch between the two. Always opening up options to do so is getting more and more tedious of a job. Couldn’t we just have a “Toggle Open Mic” function that can be bound to any key we wish? It would be a very nice feature!
Push to talk?
It’s a thing already…unless i misunderstood your post.
no, they’re asking for a button to switch between push to talk and open mic without opening audio settings. i would love this too.
Wouldn’t it just be better to make a discord server for your friend group? Seems like it’d be much more handy and probably has better audio quality too.
I want to switch between speakers and headphones sound options - I have to change it every time I go to play with headphones (which is every time I play with friends) while when I play alone, I prefer speakers. I already asked for this, but this kind of things are usualy ignored here xD
I think there’s a mute fuction that would solve it. Some friends of mine often uses that kind of perk.
Also, you can simply disable autojoin on voice chat on team one. I mostly use only on groups and keep the push to talk function because I often focus more on sounds and for that I can shot call some moves of the opponents.
If you enjoy just talking, I think the mute function would be the one you want.
Check if it solves your problem.
Sadly that won’t solve the issue. Mute is what it is: mute. There is no push to talk that way.
Disable auto-join is again not related, because I want to be in team voice when solo-queueing to make callouts on demand with posh-to-talk.
So the issue is real simple: in group open mic is the way to go, bc we chat a lot while gaming AND make callouts. In solo queue push-to-talk is the better option as I don’t want total strangers to hear every breath of mine. There is no function in the game currently to switch between these two any other way except opening the options tab.
I just always play with open mic on, and if i don’t want anyone to hear me, I just reach over with my left thumb and press the M key for mute.
To me that gives me a better feeling of control rather than having to press a button to talk, I just press a button when I don’t want others to hear me (in case I’m eating something, sneezing, raging, etc lol).
I’m so confused as to what ur asking for…I use open mic and set the mute mic to my mouse. When I wanna talk I just push the button when I don’t wanna talk…I just…push the button…
You can also macro it. I have a custom keyboard I set up using VIA and it can add in macros, I use to use em to for really quick chat functions back before the improved “ping” and. “Scroll wheel” was added in.
How is it still confusing: I would like to have a button to toggle between Open Mic and Push to Talk.
I use blue switch keyboard, so sadly I usually can’t go open mic as it’s pretty annoying to listen to constantly.
Mute is not PTT. You need to press mute on and off and that’s really impractical compared to push to talk, especially while trying to play seriously.
Also you can’t macro something that you need to go into the options for.
